The teacher, Michel was amazing!!! Pole dancing was so much fun and I look forward to trying level 2. At first we were slightly apprehensive as to how much we would be able to do and by the end of the course, we were hanging upside down, on the pole using no hands - It's made me so much stronger and flexible! Definitely recommend it!

A fun enjoyable workout.I ached the next day but felt better for it.
The teacher was excellent and the class was hard but fun everyone had different levels of skills but all were friendly and approachable. We made up routines in teams to show each other in the later weeks.I will definitly do another course again in 2012.

I though a lot to write a review about my experience of Pole Dance Class Recently, I make 3 big mistake, the first one no to go for a tester class, the second one no to read the review, and the most painful, i pay all the course, this is supposed to be a six weeks pole dance class, which i assist just 3, the most important reason i didn't finish is because the atmosphere , the teacher, which is suppose to be friendly and make you feel comfortable, is more cold them the North Pole, actually make me feel ignored, the few time i have been, i feel really frustrating, and i realize that every Thursday when the class was i feel really in agony, because i wasn't enjoy it.
In the end i went to other pole dance school, to check out if was me or really was the L.A P.D.S, and guess what? I understood that i no need to pay for people make me feel bad, so i decided no to go anymore, even no to bored to ask for the money back.
Honestly I wont recommend even to my enemy to go to this class in Victoria, because don't worst the money, is very small, 1 pole for 3 people, and the teacher need first to learn public relations,
i lost my time and my money.

I decided to go Pole Dancing to improve my confidence and I also heard that it was great for fitness too - two birds one stone!! I didnt know what to expect and was very nervouse but the instructor was great and put me at ease. I certainly wasnt expecting the work out pole dancing gave me. I ached so much the next day and by the end of my eight week course not only did I know a killer routien but my body shape was also changing. I now do course after course and cant wait to learn new spins and tricks.

I have made lots of new friends and see other girls who have made great friends, the instructors are great, they are good fun and OMG do they know some tricks, I love to watch them and think to myself I will be able to do that at some point.

Pussycat Poles are the best and I would recommend them to everyone

Worst experience ever, have a trial session before you signed up or you'll be paying for something your not attending. I shared the pole with 5 other girls and did not get value for money.

My friend suggested we start pole dancing and as I was new to Kent I thought this would be an amazing way to meet new friends. I was expecting to wiggle round a pole and have a giggle but I wasn't quite ready for the work out pole dancing gives. I had achey muscles the next day but that told me I'd worked my body hard and by the end of the course I was seeing positive changes in my body. I loved it so much I have now worked my way through all the courses and eagerly await the next course being released.

Sometimes classes like this can get a bit bitchy but I am pleased to say I have never experienced this. I have made lots of new friends and see other girls who have made great friends in these classes too. The friendly atmosphere is brought about by the instructors and the way they work the room helping everyone individually and encouraging you to help each other.

The instructors are great they are all friendly, helpful and obviously love to pole dance. I really like to attend the drop in classes between courses this is where you can practice what you have learned. You tend to meet instructors from other areas in these classes as they all like to get together to practice the latest moves seem on the competition circuit. They are always willing to help and seem to understand that sometimes a different view point can help you nail that move.

I am so glad I found pole dancing and Pussycat Poles School is fab.

This course was so much fun! I was a bit nervous at first but the Instructor was so friendly and the other girls in the class were lovely too. The classes are a workout but are a real laugh too, I actually looked forward to going back each week and I ususally hate exercise!! I definitely noticed a massive change in the muscle definition in my arms and I lost weight too. I did the Beginner's Course and I've booked to go back for Advanced as I'm missing my classes already. Think I might even get a pole at home now too! Can't recommend it enough ladies!

Was so much fun! Highly recommend it! Alexe was a fabulous teacher, really freindly and approachable and helped us all releax immediately. Really fun on the poles and we learnt lots of moves that would look great with practice or more lessons - more moves then i thought i would be able to do in the first class! i definately want to sign up for a 6 week course.

I've been with Pussycat Poles since the beginning of the year and absolutely love it!

The courses are well structured and have a progressive nature so that you never get bored and always have something more to aim for.

Our instructor is great and is happy to go over different moves with you until you perfect them and is always encouraging.

My fitness level and strength has increased more than I could have imagined over the year and I can't imagine my life without poles!

Highly recommended for health and happiness - it gives you a 'feel good' factor.

Having never been to a Pole Dancing lesson before, I wasn't sure what to expect, however it's a lot of fun!

The first session we learnt the easier moves, which is good as I don't have much arm strength, so found some of them quite hard. The teachers are really friendly, and encourage you to do well. You can ask them anything, and they will help you work out a way to complete the moves.

As the weeks went on, my arm strength has improved loads just from one lesson a week.... I can even go upside down!

I really recommend this studio.

I've recently completed the Level 1 pole dancing course with LAPD at LA Fitness Victoria. Although the venue isn't the best and sometimes it can be a bit tricky sharing a pole with one or two other members of the class, the level of help and enthusiasm from our instructor Alexe more than made up for this. It may worry some people doing group lessons but I very quickly forgot my embarrassment and made friends with the other group members and we've all encouraged each other along. Be warned: some of the moves do lead to bumps and bruises, but the more you get used to them, the less this happens.

I feel like I get a really great workout from pole dancing; I ache in muscles I didn't know I had the next day! It's been so much fun and way more enjoyable than a run round the park in the rain or a spinning class with a shouty instructor. I've learnt a lot and am now looking forward to taking a Level 2 course later in the year.

Great course and great teacher and really good value with the deal. The only downside is 3 people people to a pole - ok when you first start as doing anything is exhasuting, but as the weeks go on and we are supposed to learn a routine I am finding that there is not enough time to practice - I think there are only 2 to a pole in level 2, so may have to stick with it! Overall, great fun and it hurts! but in a way that you know it is doing you good :)

I have been going to pole sessions since it opened last year, i went to my first begginer class on my own feeling nervous but as soon as i walked through the door i felt at ease, the begginer course was great and so much fun and the instructor was great at helping me progress to new moves and building confidence on the pole, all the other students are lovely and work in a team helping each other with new moves etc and we always have a laugh in every lesson, now i am on intermediates were we can learn more challenging moves and routines. I look forward to my pole classes every week, its also a great way to meet new friends. Pole has help me tone up too.

The class was great. The teacher is very encouraging. Everyone was friendly which made the class a great fun. Although the floors used for the classess were a little filthy, would be great if it was cleaned before we have the class.

The pole dancing itself was really fun but due to be not being able to commit to 6 Wednesday in a row it meant that I only got 3 pole dancing sessions and had to make the rest up in toning sessions, which for me defeated the purpose of pole dancing. I was a bit dissapointed that they could not let me make up the 3 sessions with pole classes rather than toning classes.

It's definitely a fun sport to do!

Absolutely love pole dancing!!! Great value for money and lots of fun! For all the girls considering, don’t think there will be professional dancers at the beginner level and you’ll be uncomfortable. In our group there were girls with different abilities all shapes and sizes and at the end of 6 weeks course we can ALL spin and climb up the pole. The teacher was good but facilities not so much.

Very welcoming friendly fun class. The class is kept small enough that you get enough one to one time to make it productive. A great workout, no matter where you are on the fitness scale. Designed to have you throwing moves on your first lesson. Would definately recommend!

I mainly joined for the pole fitness classes. There are two, one on Tuesday which I occasionally make it to due to it being so late and another on a Friday which I try never to miss. The Friday teacher Kelly is fab, she's great at teaching multi level classes and I feel completely confident that I'm in a safe, secure, environment.

The only down side is that the poles aren't looked after particularly well, one of them at least is very scratched making it quite difficult on the hands.

Overall the facilities are good, the changing rooms are clean and have good sized lockers. They provide hair dryers...would be great if they could provide straighteners as well, I know a few gyms in London now do this.

Although I take the pole classes, I usually take another class beforehand to ensure I get a really good warm up, I usually take the Step class or Zumba. I have also tried the cheerleading classes after Wednesday Zumba (when it was at Bank last month) and all of the teachers are supportive and motivating.

Overall a great gym. I do have a linked membership which I'm seriously reconsidering as the pole class at Holborn isn't great.

If you're after an all round good set of classes, Bank is good. I can't vouch for the actual gym equipment as I've only ever taken the classes.

My friend just told me she saw a bad reveiew on here and I had to put it straight! She told me about pole secrets so I went along and had a blast. Great fun, great girls, great work out. Nothing bad to say really, I go once a week and enjoy it every time. Made lots of new pals and lost 4 pounds already- what's not to love!

Soooooo much fun! Lovely teachers, great inspirations to look up to when you see what they can do.
Fantastic value for money when you think about how much you spend on a gym membership, and if you're like me, never go. I look forward to lessons every week and come out feeling pumped and really happy!
I can not believe there are a couple of bad reviews on here- not saying they're lying but from my experience and also I know a lot of other happy customers, I just find it very hard to imagine.
Anyway, see for yourself but I would recommend everyone to go and have a go, it's an amazing work out and you can really feel it afterwards. In a good way! Also in response to another review, there are several larger ladies in my class and some of them are better than the skinny minis! Everyone is treated equally, given loads of encouragement and made to feel fab. Definitely go!

Had SUCH a good time! Got recommended by a friend to go after she lost loads of weight doing it and now I'm hooked. Bought my own pole to practice on and everything haha. Girls all lovely, great music and atmosphere. I had recently had my first baby so had put on weight and wasn't feeling confident about my body but they made me feel really relaxed. I actually managed to some moves quicker than some of the skinnier girls haha. So size isn't everything! We are 2 or 3 to a pole, which is perfect as it's much more fun working with other people. Plus when you get to the more advanced stuff (I'm starting stage 3 now ahh!) you don't want your own pole as it's too tiring to do move after move and you want someone there when you're hangin by your feet just in case haha.
Definitely do it it's such a laugh and gets you feeling fit and sexy!

I am a 40 year old woman so as you can imagine I was nervous about starting pole dancing! A friend of mine recommended it to me after her daughter took her to a taster session and she had such a good time she signed up.
There are girls in my class ranging from 20 to 54, (so I'm not the oldest!!) , and we have such fun each week. We were all nervous at first but now we're up to stage 3 and learning to go upside down and let go- at my age! It's such fun and I've made a lot of good friends. IT doesn't matter how old you arei, what size you are, it's about getting fit, building youre strength and confidence and above all, having fun. I have never laughed so much in my life whilst working out, a fantastic change from slogging it out at the gym!
We don't wear high heels or anything like that, just a vest t-shirt and shorts. I wore trousers the first couple of weeks which was fine, but made some moves difficult. By week 4 I was feeling more confident anyway and wanted to do the moves so took some shorts, and found I didn't mind bearing my legs actually!
Overall a great experience- lovely teachers and other students, great venue with enough poles and space to go around and a fantastic way to get fit. Have a go!

I have been learning with Pole Secrets for 5 years now and have loved it from my very first lesson.
I felt a bit nervous and embarassed for about the first 5 minutes when I started stage 1 but the girls are so friendly and really put you at ease. Granted, I get frustrated sometimes with moves, but there's nothing better than the feeling you get when you've been trying to do something for ages, and then finally you get it! I lost half a stone in 2 months without even really trying when I started pole, as they give you warm up excercises and tips on things you can do at home to build your strength, which helps you master moves more easily too. Absolutely anyone can learn and benefit from pole fitness; I used to say 'I can't do it' about some moves, now I know that maybe I can't do something YET, but that I definitely WILL if I keep working at it. Love, love, love it!

I felt really uncomfortable. I didn’t get enough attention and I was forced to share a pole with 6 skinny girls. Staff kept making digs about my weight I’m not even that big I’m a size 14. I left first session in tears. I refuse to go back and good luck to any curvy women that attend 

i totI totally agree!!!!!!!!
I spent one hundred and 20 pounds to spin on the pole for 5mins and the worst thing is they tricked me to put my name down for pole fitness stage 2 but after few sessions I realized it wasn’t worth the money. A month later I get a call saying I owe them another one hundred and 20 pounds for the second stage which I didn’t attend or confirmed. They claimed I had to pay. I told them it must have been an understanding and ill pay on the next lession. But the lession was finished. They wasn’t willing to give me an alternative and to be honest I really wouldn’t waste another penny there.

If you’re thinking about it don’t do it! Don’t waste your time or money. You have to share one pole between 3 to 4 girls and the time is not shared equally. They teach a numerous about of stages in one session with only 1 teacher and her assistant, for instance I was an beginner in stage 1 and they were also teaching stage 2, 3,4, 5 and 6. So there was a lack of guidance. I was Very disappointed.

Went with a few friends to a session with LAP at Waldorf Hilton, the teacher was quite focussed and although did show us the moves did not really go out of her way to make us feel comfortable or inject a fun atmopshere. Was good to do a taster and the venue was fine but would not inspire me to go back again.

It was a really fun session and good introduction to pole dancing. It would have been better if there had been more poles so everyone could have had more practice time but it was just an hours introduction so can't grumble really.

My husband paid for me to attend pole dancing classes at PoleLaTeaz, and I have to say I was extremely skeptical at first. It sounded fun, but I didn't see how pole dancing could possibly give me a decent work out. I'm happy to report that I was sore as hell after my first couple of classes! The instructors there are really great, and it feels like a real class; it never got weird! Learning new moves at PoleLaTeaz is definitely the only time I've left a workout session feeling sexier than when I arrived.

That was great to read.
I'm one of the guys involved with Pole Dancing (more on the acrobatic side) and met Jolene a couple of years ago. Since then, she has helped me advance considerably with her skills in teaching, and the way she's able to break down complex moves.
I now fortunate to help out with some the background stuff with Purity (such as some website updates, etc.). so one thing I would add to this review, is her website address http://www.puritypoledancing.com where you can also find out more information about her classes.

With celebrities including Lily Allen and Madonna embracing the latest craze for Pole Dancing, I felt it was only fair to the readers of Wahanda to try it!

Purity Pole dancing offers a variety of classes in my local area, so I contacted Jolene, one of the teachers, and booked myself and my friend in. Jolene was lovely and friendly, and gave clear directions and a map for where the Purity dance studio was. The website had clear instructions on what to wear and what to expect in the class.

Donning a pair of shorts and trainers, we made our way to the class and were the first to arrive at the class. Jolene warmly greeted us and explained a little more about how long she had been doing the classes and a bit about the competitions, classes and events in the local area for Pole Dancing. In the next few weeks, Jolene will be attending the quarter finals and the final, all set in the Reading area.

The class itself was in a one room studio, with walls covered in mirrors and 5 poles throughout the room. Shortly after we arrived six others joined us, with ages ranging from 18-40. The majority of attendees to pole dancing are female, but it’s not unknown for guys to attend too.

Jolene got us warmed up with some basic stepping on the spot, and stretches. She then taught us how to walk around the pole, of which there were three different styles. Once we had decided on a style, we were taught how to turn around the pole, how to lean back against it, stay up on the stole, and how to shimmer.

Whilst my initial hopes that I’d be a natural were pretty unrealistic, it was great fun trying all the moves, and then adding all the moves together. It’s harder than it looks, in particular I struggled with spinning around the pole, but the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, and everyone is happy to make suggestions or discuss different ways of doing a move. Jolene also makes sure to speak to each student about each move, and is conscious of making sure all the moves are safe and not in danger of pulling a muscle!

I definitely felt afterwards that my arms and abs had had a bit of a workout.

Jolene’s class was fun and clearly instructed, and definitely removed the stigma of pole dancing being only the activity of strippers! I would really recommend this to anyone that wants to take a fun approach to fitness. With practice you’ll definitely get a full body workout, and it has the benefit of being a sociable activity, with many pole competitions and pole parties running.
