I brought a series of 10 classes as part of a deal on another site. I remember the booking was really easy so that was a bonus. The venue is really spacious, really relaxing and really nicely decorated. This was especially noticeable in the changing rooms, which were probably about as lovely as changing rooms can get! There was free tea too, which was always a bonus when I turned up early for classes.
The studio run basics classes. These focused on the core fundamentals of yoga and, as a relatively newbie, I really felt like these were a good idea. However, the class size was really big so I didn't really feel like I could ask questions if I was confused or like I got much personal attention if I was having problems with poses. I think class sizes were pretty big because of the voucher deal so maybe this isn't usually a problem. There was also a lot of focus on the spiritual side of yoga but I didn't feel like at any point it was forced upon me, which is a nice balance.
However, I feel like the staff here lets this studio down. The front desk staff, whilst never really "rude", were quite brisk. To be honest, I can't recall ever once being greeted with a smile. The teaching also varied. Some teachers were lovely and supportive, some stunk of smug superiority! In one extreme example, I remember a girl saying she had a bad wrist so couldn't perform certain poses and the teachers reaction was rather rude and disrespectful - almost an "So why are you here if you're not going to try?" sort of reaction.
I would recommend this studio to yoga fans in North London.
