excellent venue and very helpful. i would definitely be going back in the near future and will recommend to every one i know without a shadow of a doubt! Staff were very friendly also..excellent all round.
I went to this Golf course with a friend after i had been recommendid by a friend from work. We went and played on a Wednesday and it was a great game of Golf the course i tight and challenging but still enjoyable. The views as you walk around the course are breathtaking and also the wildlife. After our round we went and sat on the patio and looked out to sea. The staff were very welcoming and the food and drink were not over priced. Another great quality to Worlebury is the members! Shortly after we entered the club house around 30 members slowly poured into the clubhouse and they had been playing in a Wednesday night role up. They say that the role up is good becasue you can go and meet new golfers and also play a competitive round of golf mid week. If i lived closer to the course i would have signed up to being a member! I would strongly recommend going.
A nice friendly course. I did the free classes to learn how to play on the range then progressed to the advanced course to learn putting, chipping etc. Enjoyed it all, everyone friendly and I've since been back to play on the decent pitch and putt course. A good opening golf experience.
Great golfing venue brilliantly located in Worcester, relaxed but professional staff, great tuition at excellent rates for juniors and advanced golfers, great golfing experience along the 9 hole course, excellent practice facility and golf range
This was a great, non intimidating enviornment to learn the basics about the game, the course, and equipment. Classroom instructions is about an hour and then another .5 hours of practice time. It's also easy way to get additional pointers to improve your performance.
A lovely course and a really great club house. Definitely worth a visit
A decent venue, good surroundings. Nothing too amazing but good location for City workers.
Short lesson, basic. Experience was fine considering free of charge to lure people within the vicinity.
Enjoyed the visit overall.
Signed up for 25 lessons and after 11 lessons, the instructor left the company. Not desiring to start over, the company is not willing to refund my remaining balance. This is very poor customer service do not recommend the service since they do not back it up...
We tried the Golf Simulator which was great fun and very proper and professional (in contrast to the two of us who had never played golf before). An advice is that the golf simulators are for people who know a bit more than me how to play as you obviously don't get any instruction on playing, only on operating the simulator. The Club however offers memberships with lessons included.
Today I went to the City Golf Club because of the Wahanda mobdeal offering a free 30 minutes golf simulation session. Let me just make one minor point first: don't expect a FULL 30 minutes free golf lesson.
Apart from that I had a very pleasant experience at City Golf: I met Matt, the membership manager, who explained all the benefits of becoming a member to the club. I had about 5 practice swings on the golf simulators and the rest of the time we talked about membership.
The club itself is very swanky and has an excellent bar open only to members (the venue itself can be hired for business meetings and events).
The way I see it is that I went in there potentially to do cross-marketing/cross-referrals for my massage practice as I get many clients with back injuries after playing golf (main reason: lack of warming up). I wanted to find out more about the mechanics of golf to understand how to prevent back injuries. I will only find that out when I become a member and guess what, I will.
Ladies, take note: only 25% of members are women, so ... you never know, you might meet some interesting guys there!
It was a wonderful experience. I would definitely recommend it to different people. Staff was very friendly and kind. I am looking forward for more sessions.
I was never big on spas, I have never played golf, but I think the experience I had changed my mind.
The venue was beautiful, tip-top with a very luxurious and calming ambience. The staff friendly, but the Manager showing me around was very blant and did not make sure to sign me. Just quickly showed me around and said to contact him.
I signed up for the introductory Golf 101 class, which is a 90 minute class with just the right amount of classroom instruction beforehand, followed by plenty of time to whack golf balls from the iconic multi-tiered driving range onto the Hudson (sort of). See below, or in the "Gallery" section to see the picture I took. For newbies, the Golf Club is at Pier 59, and you walk under through a tunnel of sorts, and then you see the entrance (again, see the "Gallery" for pictures)
I think some individual classes would be a good next step, but this is a good way to get introduced to the facility. The best thing about the driving range is that the balls come up automatically, so you do not need to bend over after every hit and tee it up. My instructor, who used to be a former golf pro, was very patient and was a great teacher. I love this place, and will definitely be back soon. For taking the class, I also received a $20 card for use at the driving range when I come back.
Picture I took from the top deck of the driving range:

Dukes Meadow is a really great, 9-hole course that is quick and easy to get to from Central London. It doesn't require a long haul out to the country or a full day committment for a round of golf. I tend to shy away from golf becasue of the significant time committment, but I will defintiely play here again since we got through a round with 3 guys in just over an hour. Its inexpensive, as far as golf goes, and they have a decent bar and a place to eat after your round. They also have a nice practice range and indoor/outdoor tennis facilities.
Make sure you have golf shoes and a set of clubs or else they won't let you on. Don't try and sneak on with tennis shoes since they fully inspect your kit prior to the first tee.
The Dukes Meadows 9 hole Par 3 course is a perfect way to play a round of golf without committing the entire day to travel and playing a full 18 holes. The Chiswick Bridge Driving range is also very good in case you just want to hit a few balls. The place is nicer after a recent refurbishment where they added clay & hardcourt tennis courts - indoor & outdoor. They also redid the cafe and pro-shop, so the entire place is really nice.
It can be a little hard to find, but its a very nice course and I really enjoy playing here. Its always well-groomed and plays quickly. Definitely worth checking out. The buckets for the range are £5 each which is steep, and the green fees are about £17 each. You need to wear a collared shirt and must have golf shoes, so be forewarned - otherwise, you cannot get on the course.
