I really enjoyed all of the classes.
I'm really looking to joining a class next year. The staff were all really friendly and the taster classes are a brilliant idea.
There were members of all ages ranges and different levels so these classes are good for everyone.
I bought the Wahanda deal for 4 High Energy Dance Classes from Dancebuzz. I took classes in Zumba, Street Dance, Samba & Bollywood Dancing. The dance teachers were all really enthusiastic and very good at their style of dance. They took you through, step by step, difference dance routines, before you did the dance routine to music so you had chance to practice the steps a number of times. I really enjoyed all the classes, but I personally preferred Zumba and Samba as Iike the latin style of dance and I've done salsa before.
Really enjoyed this experience and will be taking my friends with me along when i sign up next time again. Really great atmosphere and will be enjoyed by all I'm sure, its really fun and very enjoyable.
Great classes. Very good teachers. I felt inspired by the Zumba class woman who was inclredible. Also, I think that even though the facilities are not great, there was a lot of space for moving even though classes were very popular.
I went to the Bollywood dancing taster lesson with a friend of mine who's done the course before but with another instructor. There was about 10 of us in the class, I think just the right amount of people for the room size. It was a really good lesson and the pace at which it was taught was good. The teacher was really friendly and helpful, the routine was good.
The taster class was good fun. There was only about 10 of us in the room, so a nice small group. Only 1 guy in the group. The teacher was good in gauging which level to pitch the class at. We were learning at the right speed for everyone, which can sometimes be hard in a group of mix abilities.
Fantastic teachers and fun classes. After doing a few taster classes, I signed up to the Bollywood course. The teacher taught the class at a good rate and made everyone feel comfortable. It wasn't a huge class but there were enough students. Really like the studios at this venue.
The class was good but the teacher seemed inexperienced and slightly nervous. I would have liked the pace to be a little faster so we learnt more in the hour, but overall it was a fun class.
City Academy is really nice! I ahve been here for Zumba classes before and now Bollywood and Musical Theatre. The teachers are amazing and you really feel like a professional. I would recommend classes here to everyone!
I got one of the vouchers that gave you 3 classes at Sadler's Wells - all were in different venues (Westminster Academy, Finsbury Town Hall, and Lillian Bayliss Studio) in and around the Angel/Clerkenwell area with different instructors. The ballet taster was really good, giving a good overall feel of what doing ballet would encompass, the Urban Street Dance gave you a good idea of what classes would be like as well. Bollywood was taken by a fill-in teacher the week I went - I found the teacher good but can't comment on what doing a course of classes would be like. I didn't decide to go ahead with a term of any of these - I preferred Zumba (I also attended 2 classes of Zumba at City on a different deal, with two different instructors - one I preferred over the other) but that's just my own personal taste (prefer to be constantly moving rather than stopping & starting). Overall I'd say City Academy provides a variety of different classes of good quality & value - it's just up to you what you're after.
Fantastic venue with all required facilities. Staff were very friendly and encouraging as it was obvious we were a little nervous. Excellent instruction and tips throught the class and would highly recommend to anyone wanting to try out some new dance classes.
Class is suited for people with previois dance training. While the teacher is probably a good dancer, but she cannot explain the moves to non-dance tranined students. Taster class was good price tho.
Good value, class was a little crowded and the studio was really hot, but was still fun. I would like to try another class as maybe Bollywood is not for me!
This was a great taster class for a complete novice to and Bollywood dancing. I went with a friend and we both enjohyed ourselves, although the room was quite over crowded so I was constantly moving around to try and find a spot that wasn't completely squashed.
I understand this was a taster class so we didn't do a lot, there was quite a bit of standing about watching the instructor, however it was an enjoyable intro to Bollywood.
Excellent value for money and well worth it especially for anyone considering investing in a full 6/10/12-week course. The added bonus is we weren't subjected to the "hard sell" at the end either - they're as concerned that you make the right decision as you are instead of just promoting their other courses! I'd definitely recommend it!
