I have actually been lucky enough to visit Whittlebury twice now. A few years ago and then more recently following the addition of the Heat and Ice area. The new Heat and Ice area is definitely a welcome edition, making this a true spa experience rather than just a hotel with a pool offering spa treatments. On the downside, the increase in popularity due to the additional facilities and offers, meant that the spa seemed at times too overcrowded; registration was a bit like Picaddiliy Circus and the staff were struggling to cope. This was in stark contrast to my first visit where you really felt like you got individual attention and the service in both the hotel and spa was second to none.
Hopefully this was just teething problems with the new spa! And, having said that I still thoroughly enjoyed the break, the treatments were really good. The hotel rooms are luxurious and comfortable and the restaurant was absolutley excellent quality. This is my kind of Spa Break where you can feel virtuous during the day, but can still enjoy yourself with good food and wine at night!
I would not hesitate to return, a really good spa and hotel that does not break the bank.
