I've been having Brazilian blowdrys at this salon for three years. On previous occasions, the salon has always advised that I would be charged the same as paid through groupon if mentioned on booking, and honoured this.
On booking in April, I was not told that this was no longer available, moreover when my hair was about to be straightened, I was advised by the hairdresser that there was a £20 supplement for the stronger solution that lasts 12-13 weeks.
She confirmed that this solution had not been used last time my hair was straightened, which explained why it had started getting frizzy after about 8 weeks. I complained that I had not been told about the supplementary charge at the time of booking, and the hairdresser agreed to drop it. I have no idea what product she actually used in the end.
I was charged the full salon price, but without the £20 supplement.
If the salon is not able to offer deals that have been available previously, staff should advise people at the time of booking, not when they've turned up to the salon and are about to have the product applied.
Time to find a new salon
