Many athletes use it as part of pre-event preparation to reduce recovery time, and post-event to help prevent muscle tension and release lactic acid from the muscle into the lymphatic system ready for disposal. Athletes have discovered that specially designed massage promotes flexibility, removes fatigue, improves endurance, helps prevent injuries, and prepares them to compete at their absolute best. As a remedial treatment, it can aid recovery from injury and get the athlete back into competition more rapidly.

I had an Indulgance Day booked through Groupon and went with a friend to the spa.
I absolutely cannot fault the day or the treatments. The two therapists were so amazing, the mini-facial felt as good as a full facial at most places. I asked for a sports massage as I know that I have lots of muscle knots. At one point I thought the therapist was kneeling on my back, she went so deep into the muscles. But when she finished, it was as if a ton of weight had been removed from my shoulders.
This was the most amazing day and I would definitely recommend it. Can't wait to go back :-)
