2 for 1 Pure Relaxation Spa Day Experience

Went with a friend on the 2-for-1 Heavenly Spa Day package (£140 for a mini facial, an hour long massage, and £7 lunch voucher per person). The voucher was delivered in a very nicely wrapped package and I was impressed right away. The appointment booking process was well considered as our treatments were timed together, with lunch after.

Upon arrival at the spa, we were given the usual health firms to fill. I did feel we were made to wait around for a bit before we were shown around the spa.
The changing room is a bit of a let-down. It has much more of a “health club” than a “spa” feel to it. Even though the shampoo and conditioner were Molton Brown, the generic body lotion was bracketed to the wall and there were no other products (eg face moisturiser, hair spray etc). However, once we were changed and taken into the spa, it felt very much like a luxurious experience. Along with cosy treatment rooms, they have a sanarium, salt inhalation room, aroma room, small-ish swimming pool, hydrotherapy pool and heated loungers. The salt inhalation room was my favourite as it cleared up the congestion around my sinuses. My only regret is having forgotten my bathing suit as I would’ve loved to have tried out the hydrotherapy pool.

After having some time to relax in the various rooms, we were taken for our treatments:
Facial: 30 mins. In my opinion, a 30 minute facial isn’t enough to make any noticeable change to my skin, however the therapist was very attentive and concentrated on massage (even included a foot and arm massage). All the elemis products smelt lovely. As I had a treatment just the weekend before, she didn’t use a strong exfoliant. She’d used the deep cleanser, a hydrating mask and a moisturiser. My skin was left feeling very soft. I was then taken to my second treatment
Massage: 60 mins. The therapist was again, very attentive and engaging. She gave me a relaxing all-over massage, and just when i felt like i could’ve drifted off in a snooze she started to work on my some stubborn knots in my neck and shoulders. In the end I was feeling thoroughly relaxed and my shoulders felt better.

Lunch was okay. It would’ve been nicer had we figured out there were separate sections for families + children, and adults. Screaming kids kind of dampened our “zen”-like state of mind, so we made sure not to have a long lazy lunch.

Overall impression: a great spa day to share with a friend.

Tips:
Bring £10 for the locker deposit (refundable)
Arrive at least an hour earlier to enjoy the wet spa
Bring bathing suit for swimming pool and hydrotherapy pool
Don’t book your lunch for in between treatments (you’d have to get dressed and go to the club restaurant/cafe with lots of children about which could ruin your chilled spa mood)
