The Spa Grande at the Grand Wailea Resort really offers the complete spa experience. With any treatment, you have use of their absolutely gorgeous Roman-style bath for 1 hour before. First a spa attendant will give you a exfoliating body scrub (it is clothing optional but don't worry, you can wear your bathing suit if you want - I did!). Then you are free to enjoy all of the different bathing experiences they offer - hot pools, cold pools, massaging showers, jacuzzi, steam room, and soaking pools with waters of different scents and healing properties. Don't skip this part - this is what truly sets it over the top!

My Swedish massage was heavenly, and afterwards the therapist even showed me some stretching exercises I could do for my neck and shoulders. The only hiccup happened at the very end , when there was a little confusion over the payment. Evidently I was supposed to assign a value to my gratuities before I entered the spa, which I'd never experienced at any other spa. Then I noticed I was charged the incorrect amount for my service, which I pointed out and I thought was fixed, but then the wrong amount was still charged to my hotel room. I'm sure they've smoothed out their process by now.
