I was 13st 12lbs. I got breathless going up stairs, my knees and back ached with carrying the extra weight around. I was only 53 but felt like 73. It took making a positive move to change my job and my lifestyle that spurred me on the right road. I then decided to take positive steps toward losing weight and exercising. A healthy diet and regular exercise followed. Over a period of 8 months I lost two and a half stone. The exercise increased with momentum over this time from walking to jogging to running plus floor exercises with weights at home. These steps took sheer determination and a resilience that cannot be measured.
Having already lost two and a half stone I wanted to lose another one and a half stone to get to my target weight , but I seemed to have reached a plateau. My friend asked me to come along to fit body bootcamp. She had already joined with an online discount deal and she was able to refer me as a friend at a discounted rate for a one week trial. I went to that one week trial and I have never looked back since. I now have a yearly membership. I brought my determination and resilience with me to bootcamp.
The classes were really hard at first and my muscles ached for the first wee while. I pushed myself through the pain barrier and felt a sense of achievement and started to see good results after six weeks. The encouragement from Riccardo and Chris has really helped motivate me and I can’t thank them enough for that. The classes are great fun. I love the people who go and sharing experiences with them. The challenging exercise and the fun created by the instructors makes it a very friendly happy environment. I thoroughly enjoy this type of exercise and get a real thrill from it.
I now weight 9st 10lbs, I am a size 10 for the first time in my adult life. Most of all I feel I now deserve to be this way because I have worked hard. I have a more toned physique that I feel proud of and most of all I just feel great.
I won’t say I push myself 100% because I always think I can improve and want to keep trying. I always say I give it 95% in order to push myself a bit more each time. The whole experience of this bootcamp has been part of an emotional journey that has helped change my way of thinking. This journey has led to major life changes of mine and the transformation I have made has brought about positive changes to improve my life.
I will be applying next year to train as a fitness instructor. Your never too old to start afresh.
