I bought a Wahanda voucher for a body wrap treatment and phoned to book it pretty much as soon as I had the voucher. Unfortunately, when I phoned to make the appointment, I was told there was a two month wait for appointments, which was a bit disappointing. However, when I needed to change the date of my appointment, I emailed them and they were really accommodating so that was good. So I was really excited for my body wrap.
Except I didn't get one. When I arrived at the clinic, I was told I was booked in for a body scrub instead and they couldn't give me a body wrap because the shipment of the product they needed for the treatment hadn't arrived yet. I found this a little frustrating as the booking had been discussed both over the phone and over email so they really should have got it right but they were generous enough to offer me the body scrub as a treatment instead, despite that treatment having a higher value and, considering I wasn't really overly fussed about the body wrap, I was happy to accept. If I was fussed about the body wrap, however, I could imagine I would have been more than a tiny bit annoyed about not being offered a re-booking instead.
I've seen somebody else's review on here say that the salon is pretty dark and I can only confirm!! I get that a stairway lit by candlelight is supposed to be relaxing but it feels like dicing with death! The treatment room itself is also pretty dark, which is good for the actual treatment but makes getting dressed/undressed really tricky.
The body scrub treatment itself was a little bit odd. I've had body scrub treatments before but this one felt much rougher. Almost painful at points. When it came to showering off, instead off being offered a robe or a large towel, I was bundled into the sheets I was lying on and shuffled to the shower room. I also wasn't given a towel to dry off after the shower so had to use the hand towel sized one that was used to wrap my hair before wrapping up in what can only be described as a large tea towel and going back to the treatment room for the moisturiser to be applied.
I didn't really know what the treatment was supposed to be like but I was told at the front desk that I'd get a bit of a massage. The emphasis should have been on "a bit". All in all, it was a nice treatment that left my skin smoother but - and I feel bad saying this as the staff there are perfectly nice - no better than I could have done on my own at home with a good quality body scrub and half-decent moisturiser. I also note that I wasn't given any information about what products were being used, which was a massive shame. (Also, I wasn't asked if I had any allergies etc. - fortunately, I don't but be warned if you do!!)
On the way out, I was offered the same treatment at the same discounted price if I booked then. I politely excused myself and legged it back to the tube. I think that says it all really.
