Do not go near this place. It is a disaster. Firstly, the proprietors are ghastly and have no idea about customer service or making the client feel at home. Either the husband or the wife are 'on the desk' at all times; this is basically to demand that you pay before your treatment (presumably because they have so many dissatisfied customers) and to ensure that their employees toe the line at all times. The two therapists who work there speak very little English indeed, constantly talk in their native tongue (which is fine except you don't know if they're talking about you), clearly hate their bosses and carry out a pedicure as if they've never seen hard skin on feet before. Yes, they're very thorough but treat your feet as if they're something vile from another planet and do not make you feel comfortable at all. I went there a few times, simply because the therapist I had was ok and did a good job on my feet, including removing hard skin and painting my nails but I had to put up with her clear distaste when removing hard skin (isn't that what a pedicure's all about??) and felt obliged to read a newspaper or magazine to simply ignore her nonsense. The last time I went there, I was handed over to the other therapist who, literally, cut my feet to ribbons and left me with such sore feet I couldn't have another pedicure for 8 weeks until my feet had healed. There was no point in complaining as I knew there would just be a row and I wouldn't get my money back. Whilst there, I have also witnessed at least two people who were horrified with their eyebrow threading and told the therapist they'd 'ruined my eyebrows' because they were rushing too much, presumably under pressure from their employers to get the job done as quickly as possible. You do have to shop around to find a really good pedicurist and I, thank goodness, have found one. Her little salon is called Aspasia Beauty and she is based near Canary Wharf, is friendly and efficient and does excellent eyebrow threading and pedicures. She charges £35 for a full pedicure, leaves my feet looking and feeling lovely and paints them beautifully. The look lasts at least 4 weeks and she doesn't demand the money up front!
