I booked a hair cut and highlights with Rush in Woking as it was near home and they were doing a money off deal. They could only fit me in with one of the top stylists, so it was still quite pricy. I had a cut, half head highlights and a conditioning treatment. On their half price deal this still came to about £150.00.
The stylist seemed to listen to what I wanted, and gave some good advice initially. However, my biggest problem was that he did not let me chose the colour for my hair. Despite showing me the colour chart, I had not completely decided what colour I wanted, but told him some ideas I had. He bleached my hair and then told one of the assistants to wash it (while he disappeared around the corner). After the wash the young girl came back in with a bottle in her hand. I stopped her and asked if that was the toner/colour she was putting in. She assured me that it was not. A few minutes later, the stylist came back in and looked at my hair saying that the colour was setting in nicely. I was completely shocked and asked what colour he had put, and then asked to see it on the chart. He didn't get the chart and said he had put on a very light colour on because "we could always tone it down after". I was really upset the he hadn't let me chose the colour myself.
It was a very bad experience for me, the stylist just did what he wanted - and did not listen to me at all, despite the amount of times I told him I was concerned about how close together the bleached parts were.
I have since had it toned down to a more subtle colour - as the very high blond highlights were terrible against my dark hair.
I would not recommend this place to anyone. Unless you are willing to fight your stylist into doing what you actually want.
