Vodder training is not the only game out there- you can be certified through a number of great programs, including massage schools that have week long certification. I received my certification through the medical massage programs. Honestly, massage insurance is overrated. Unless a practitioner is negligant or really bad at his job, virtually no massage therapists get sued. Its just another way to take more of our money. Massage insurance was literally non-exsistant 10 years ago. Howver, as a MLD therapist, you must absolutely know the conrtraindications of this type of therapy. It is a very powerful modality,. Paradoxically, it doesnt physically feel like you are doing much, but you do have a profound effect on a patient;s healing, particularly for post-operative recovery and lymphadema.
