I dyed my hair dark brown from platinum brown and now would like to return blonde, how long should I expect the process to take? Can I just get the colour stripped and dyed blonde?

It looks as though you have fine hair. I wouldn't recommend stripping your hair because it could end up looking like hay. I would ask your stylist to do a heavy highlight, then you will have the illusion of blonde hair with the brown undertone. A pretty look for fall and winter. Then when your ready to have your hair done again, 6-8 weeks later, have the same thing done. In 4-6 months, you'll be platinum again! With healthy hair.

It really depends on the condition of your hair. Using a color remover in the salon can take 3 hours, sometimes it can take all day depending on what level of darkness has saturated your hair. It is a process, however it is the most GENTLE way to remove the color.
Heavy highlights may destroy/break your hair, consult your hairstylist. Hair color remover is not damaging and is NOTt a bleach product. The end result most likely will not be the lightest blonde, but would leave your hair 2-3 levels lighter. Happy coloring!
PS. Ask your stylist to complete a wet strand test to see if you need to be sent home with moisture/protein or both, this will help to keep your hair looking and feeling healthy.

Hey CharleyMarley. My name is Adrien I am a Stylist at Currie. To answer your question as best as i can with the information you have given me. Well first of all, Do You do your own color? But if you have recently gone darker and you want to go back to the light blonde. Yes I recomend that in steps. naturally the hair dye would of made your hair darker then expected do to the perosity of your hair. I would say it would take at least two to three visits. The first I would treat your hair with Protein or keratin then apply color remover one that wont hurt your existing hair, the work from there. maybe a single process color or high lights using a high lift color instead of bleach. I can not give you a deffinate answer since i have not treated your hair or know its current condition. But If your willing to come in the shop for a consultation I will be working on this thurs the 17th , fri the 18th sat. the 19th mon, the 21st. 302-777-7755 ask for an appt with Adrien. I would be happy to give you 20% off your color and any treatment you may require,. Happy HolidayS!!!

It is definitely a process. There is always a chance that your hair can break if you try to go back blonde. The best thing you can do is go to someone that specializes in color correction and buy moisturizing products for at home care.

The thing about stripping your hair, is that its very damaging. I would slowly put hilights back into your hair, over a few months, so you don't damage it too bad, and eventually, you'll be back to the blonde you want to be.
