To answer the question about whether lotion or oil is used during a lymph drainage session, probably not. Some peole may use essential oils but they have a different purpose than a massage lotion or oil. I would not use any massage lubricant because the method used to drain lymph is so gentle and strokes very small. There is no need to add anything to assist with the movement.

It depends on the Treatment. I nearly always include some lymphatic drainage in a Facial and then I would be using either an organic oil or an organic massage cream. However when I perform Dr Vodders Manual Lymphatic Drainage for the Face & Neck I do not use anything. The technique requires that the fingers are stationery on the skin while moving the skin itself with the fingers and using an oil or lotion would cause the fingers to slip and prevent the degree of precision that is required.

Yes the therapist will use a specific oil blend that contains aromartherpay oils known to help stimulate the lymphatic system, increase circulation and are helpful in detoxifying the body.

Lymphatic Drainage massage is specifically to assist the lymph flow throughout the body. It is a very light technique with very precise movements that are performed as a protocol, following the pattern and direction naturally occuring in the body. It can really increase the immune system response and is helpful in removing dead cells and fats through the body. When done properly, you may feel a thickness or a sensation of thick, slow movement in your body. Areas that were sluggish can be "unclogged". It is about a day after a manual lymph drainage session that you feel more rejuvenated and cleansed.
