I was about to get a microdermabrasion but was was wondering if I should get a facial before or after the treatment? Someone told me it was best to get a facial first to get the skin clean, then microderm to polish. Or does it count as a facial in itself? Advice please! Thanks!!

I would get the Micro Dermabrasion 24 hours before a facial (make sure you tell the salon / Therapist that you have had the MDB) that way when they do extractions everything should come out really easily.

I would recommend you do the two together. In our medspa, we offer a "Microdermabrasion Facial". You are basically getting the cleansing, extractions, mask, etc, with the microdermabrasion being the ultimate exfolation portion of the facial.

In your Microdermabrasion facial, does the Microderm part come before or after the 'facial' part?

The face should be cleansed thoroughly, first. Extractions should be done next, if needed. Microdermabrasion can then be done, followed by the facial or even a light chemical peel, if needed. Microdermabrasion essentially helps to remove the surface cellular debris from the skin surface and renders the skin clear and better able to allow for any product penetration, that follows.

The way I would do is:
I would count the extra as facial before I do the microdermabrasion. Afterwards I would do some extra bits to smoothen the skin which can also be classed as a facials itself.

Mircrodermabrasion itself should be given as apart of a facial... The Technician giving the microdermabrasion cleanses the skin to prep for the microdermabrasion. Its a great exfoliate that removes the top layer of the skin. Which in turn softens the look of wrinkles.

Hello Thanks for our question. Microdermabrasion is a type of facial in itself. Some people do combination treatments i.e one week microdermabrasion then one week a facial but it depends on why your having it. We offer free skin analysis in our salon please feel free to call us on 01425 474046 then perhaps we can help you determin the best treaten for your concerns. I hope that this helps

Although I do not do microdermabrasion - if would seem pointless having a facial prior to this treatment as the treament itself literally takes off the top layer of skin. However you would be better seeking advice from a therapist specialising in Microdermabrasion.

Alright, with all these answers I'm still not sure what is best to do first! :)
I'm about to have a microderm next friday (01/28) but I'm still not satisfied with my skin and i know that in this institute they do not do thorough extractions like i was used to in france or in another salon. So what i'm thinking is to go to that salon wher they do extraction on top of that microderm. But when should i do it? Before the microderm to clear the skin from any blackheads or after? How long prior or after?
