It really depends on how much the palpatations affect you during exercise, so it is important to monitor it during your workout and do not push yourself more than you can handle. The best thing to do is start with low impact exercises with both cardio and weights and slowly work your way up. Some good exercises are walking at a moderate pace and adding a little bit of an incline if on the treadmill. Same with biking, start out with a nice steady pace for a few times for 30-45minutes and after a couple weeks try a interval workout for only 10-15minutes biking 30seconds fast-30secs slow (after a warmup) on and off...again monitoring how you feel. Then try adding a few relaxation/yoga/meditation time a couple times a week. (Remember to use that deep breathing). Hopefully some of this helps.

Anyone must also remember the key words are MODERATION. Stay with in your target heart range. If you don't know your target heart range any certified personal trainer or licensed physical therapist can help you with the correct number. The target is 20 minutes 3 times a week for the first month then either increase to 40 minutes 3 times a week or add 2 days of twenty minutes. This does not have to be consecative minutes. 10 minute walk at lunch, 10 minute bike ride after work and you have 20 minutes for the day. Anytime your exercising you should be able to talk without losing your breath. If you can't carry on a conversation then you are pushing too hard and need to slow down your intensity. Walking around the block, riding your bike to the store are just as good exercises as any gym class. However, being involved with a group can be more motivating to keep your focus. Low impact classes such as Tai chi, yoga, weight training are healthy with out stressing your heart. I hope this helps.

First I would check with your doctor and see what he/she has to sugget. I would suggest purchase a heart rate moniitor and use it when you exercise, if you notice your heart rate increasing rapidly, decrease the intesity until your heart rate normalizes. But your doctor should be able to advise on the proper heart rate.
