Hi Kam17,
As the weather cools down and the central heating comes on it is time to think about re-assessing your skin care routine to complement the changing season. Adjusting your routine every 6 months not only keeps your skin suitably nourished and radiant, but also prevents sensitivity to certain ingredients developing. So look to use a slightly richer day and night cream, not forgetting sunscreen for daytime wear as even in the winter months the sun can affect skin aging. Drinking plenty of fluids will also help keep your skin well hydrated. Exfoliate 1-2 times a week with something gentle such as ground almonds, followed by a facial massage with nourishing oils containing avocado or sweet almond oil. Regular facials will also help to keep your skin healthy and looking its best.
Try making one of these simple nourishing face masks at home and use once a week for a delicious pampering treat, your skin will thank you for it!
Mash 1 avocado with 1 egg yolk. Apply to face with a brush and leave for 15-20 mins before removing with a warm damp cloth. Follow with a facial massage with cream or facial oil.
Mix 2 tbsp of oatmeal with enough honey to make a paste. Smooth over the face and leave for 15-20 mins before removing with a warm damp cloth. Follow with a facial massage with cream or facial oil.

A lot of my clients find that their regular moisturiser isn't enought through the winter months, so I suggest you add a serum, you can use it morning and night and it will offer your skin a boost or moisture and prevent your skin getting to dry with the heating on and icy blasts of wind.

During the winter months, the skin gets a break from the sun, but it subjected to central heating and cold weather. I find my Clients skin completely changes and I do a new consultation at this time of year. The Clients find regular facials help to protect and repair the skin and it is a good time of year to do facial peels, such as the Guinot Beaute Neuve Treatment. I get fantastic results after a couple of peels and the Clients find they do not need heavier moisturisers. Winter is also a good time to use repair treatments and serums as a boost

Dear Kam17,
The cold weather can really dry out the skin not only cause dameage to the capillaries under lying in the skin when you are comeing in from hot to cold places. To help treat your skin, repair any damage and to slow down the aging process we have a routine that helps to stimulate cellular production therefor you skin will feel more nourished. Firstly we always say use an antioxidant to repair the cells and also thicken the cappilary wall to help prevent redveins from occuring in this weather, not only does a good antioxidant help to repair and protect the skin from damage it nourishes aswell. secondly we would ask you to uses and hydrating serum, we call this B5 gel, it is fantastic for hydrating the skin especially in this weather, B5 gell containd huloronic acid which holds a 1000 times its weight in water, it also leaves the skin with a plumper finish as hyloronic acid is kind of used in skin fillers to plump out fine lines, this product is not harmful for the skin, it is very safe, your body its self produces hyloronic acid but this process slows down rapidly as age and damage to the skin occures. Thirdly you would then apply a moisturiser, this will leave your skin nourished and if its a good moisturised then it will be enriched with peptides and and antioxidants. Fourthly always wear an SPF of at least 30, i know its not sunshineing in winter but during the day there is still sun light and within the ray of light there is a UVA ray wich can penetrate deeper in to the dermis of the skin and cause a cellular change, it is very imprtant to wear a SPF daily wheather it is in make up or in a moisteriser or seperatly.
All the products that we use at Destination Skin are cosmeceutical grade products, they contain high ingrediants of vitamin C and D and also peptides. If you want to look more indept at these products they are made by dermaquest and skin ceuticals, these products are mainly stocked in skin clinics and some salons.
At Destination skin we are offering free skin analysis if you want to come to the clinic and we can have a look at your skin and see whatproducts and treatments will suit you best.
Kind regards
