I am a co-founder of Wahanda. I have worked in the lifestyle and internet businesses for years and am really excited about what we are building at Wahanda.
While I am not a professional therapist I am passionate about the wellness industry and how the internet can help connect consumers and professionals to raise awareness and find the ideal treatment.
Although I go to quite a few spas, I tend to have a very practical approach to wellness. I do yoga and lots of physical exercise and believe that a good regular massage is crucial to help me relieve stress.

Are Parabens really bad for you?
Asked by lopo5 more than 1 year ago.
I see more and more products saying they are paraben-free and I know several people who are allergic to parabens so I naturally want to avoid them. However I have also been told by several organic experts that parabens are actually pretty essential to making products and that to remove them means replacing it with worse things. What's the truth?

Do running shoes actually do more harm than good?
Asked by lopo5 more than 1 year ago.
I just read the book "Born to Run" by Christopher McDougall, which has been a bestseller and suggests that running shoes may actually do more damage than good to runners. Is this true? Should I be considering switching to shoes with very little cushioning like the Vibram five or even running barefoot?
I've be told that you should never use a moisturiser that also has SPF protection in it. True?
Asked by lopo5 more than 1 year ago.
I use a moisturiser every day but also want to use some kind of sun protection. I like the idea of having the two in one application and have seen a few products (there are not many) that combine the two. However, I have been told that you should not use these combined moisturisers/SPF products as somehow combining the two impacts their effectiveness. Is this true?

My seborrheic dermatitis is getting worse -- what can I do about it?
Asked by lopo5 more than 1 year ago.
For many years now I have had seborrheic dermatitis on my scalp and have treated it with regular use of a medical shampoo and then occasional use of a topical ointment. However, recently I have found that I have been getting the same flakiness and itchiness on my eyebrows, eyelids and sometime on the area below my eyes on either side of the nose.
I don't love using all these medicines to treat it and find that it only helps for a short while. Is there something natural that I can do to help my condition? Does it have to do with something I am eating?

How long should I keep the oil on after the Abhyanga massage?
Asked by lopo5 more than 1 year ago.
I have had an Abhyanga massage a few times and was told that it was beneficial to keep the oils on after the treatment for as long as possible. However, I really don't like the feeling and prefer to have a shower afterwards. Is it really necessary to keep the oils on the body after the treatment to have the full benefit of the treatment?

someone recently told me that threading was great because it didn't remove any skin the way waxing does so the skin doesn't get irritated but that it hurts quite a lot. Is that true?

How often should I go to the chiropractor?
Asked by lopo5 more than 1 year ago.
I've had a bad back in the past and went to a chiro who sorted me out after a few sessions. At the time she told me that I should see a chiro at least once per year for a general re-alignment even if my back was ok. Is this true?
