I am an Essex girl working in and loving London - a strangely happy commuter! I am passionate about writing, fabulous stationary and owning far too many nail varnishes that I will never actually get through. Anything purple has my vote. With sensitive skin and numerous odd allergies I have to be careful about what I put on my skin, so I love sampling new things! Thoroughly enjoy being pampered and spoilt, getting over-competitive at my badminton club and going out for gorgeous meals.

I was so impressed with my deep cleansing facial treatment at Amara Spa. Performed by the wonderfully endearing Henrietta using a great mix of Dermalogica products, the entire treatment was so relaxing. It included cleansing, toning, moisturising, extractions, face mask and plenty of massage, really making it such a treat. It was so soothing I almost fell asleep on numerous occasions!

I loved the ambience and atmosphere of the spa, which had classy and clean decor as well as a polished finish. Super easy to find on Fulham High Street, mere minutes away from Putney Bridge Station, Amara Spa definitely needs to go on your venue hit list!

I went to La Chic to have the all-encompassing De-Stress Package, that is absolutely chock-a-block with relaxing ayurvedic treatments. It started with a sauna session, followed by a full body scrub and mini facial, including face lift massage. The treatment concluded with an ayurvedic full body massage. My therapist Raheela was fantastic and clearly demonstrated her years of experience with an incredibly thorough treatment that used a variety of techniques and skills.

The salon is roomy, warm and welcoming, with a modern and elegant finish. A great escape on the high street.

I was so impressed by my visit to Splash Goodge Street. I had the lovely Daniella give me a Shellac manicure, and never have my nails and hands been so thoroughly spoiled and treated to a proper going over by a perfectionist of a professional. I'm now onto the end of week three with them and they still look gorgeous; the nails still with their carefully filed uniform shape and no chips in sight.

The salon itself is so relaxing with a fun and comfortable vibe that instantly puts you at ease. The manager Francesco literally couldn't do enough for me, fetching me a glass of white wine and checking that the music wasn't too loud for me.

I really enjoyed my visit to Splash Goodge Street and I am already contemplating which treatments to book before my holiday this June! Thanks so much guys!

I went to Thai London Therapy's new venue in South Kensington for a Thai Massage on Friday, and I have to say, it was simply fabulous. The venue was really easy to find, just a simple two minute walk from Gloucester Road tube station, and even though it is downstairs in a hair and beauty parlour, they still have their own neon sign outside so you know you have the right building.

The treatment itself was absolutely perfect - really worked through all of my muscle knots and tension all over my body leaving me feeling so relaxed and comfortable. I also loved that the treatment was performed on a mattress on the floor as opposed to a massage bed - just as comfortable yet it allows your therapists to reach you better. My therapist Sandy was so lovely and a true professional whose experience literally oozed as she tackled my problem areas easily.

A welcoming and warm atmosphere, blissful treatment and brilliant therapists. I would definitely recommend this venue for anyone!

Headed to Vixen last night for a threading and manicure treatments, and I was really impressed by this brand new venue. Even though they have only been open a week, the interior is bold and bright with a cheery, casual feel that puts you at ease. Literally next door to Totteridge and Whetstone station, there is no chance of getting lost which is great!

I have never had threading before and I was impressed by the level of professionalism taken to ensure that my eyebrows were the right shape and thickness to suit my face and enhance my features. My therapist Tanya also took the time to explain how threading worked and gave me a mini demo on the back of my hand. The manicure was also great, with a wide choice of varnishes from Essie, Jessica and OPI.

Had a thoroughly lovely evening and I would definitely recommend the expert services and friendly atmosphere of Vixen Nail Bar and Beauty.

I can't praise The Angel Laser Clinic highly enough - they are extremely professional, efficient, knowledgeable as well as being kind and polite. I am currently halfway through a course of six sessions of laser hair removal on my underarms, and I am already so impressed. I have noticed a visible difference in the hair growth and it is so lovely to see it going down! It makes me so excited for when the treatment is complete as I can already see results.

The venue is very clean, tidy and welcoming and even though its in a gated building with other offices and businesses, there are numerous signs and maps sign pointing the way, making it surprisingly easy to find.

The great thing is the service is fantastic. One time I went, they refused to do the treatment because I had taken paracetamol in the morning, and although it was frustrating for me at the time, it was great to see them taking my health so seriously, as they explained that taking paracetamol makes your skin more photo sensitive. My therapist consulted with the doctor on this, so it just shows what a professional venue they are. The booked me in for the next day instead and I was able to have the treatment then.

The staff are so lovely and pleasant, which puts you at ease right away. I don't personally think the treatment hurts at all - it just feels like you are having your eyebrows plucked. I would wholeheartedly recommend this treatment and this venue as I have been so impressed, especially since this is my first laser hair removal treatment, so they were very thorough when explaining everything to me. Really near Angel tube station too so great travel links.

I went to The Retreat at the very end of August to get a gel manicure and a luxury pedicure ready for my holiday in early September. Jade did both my treatments - she was very chatty, welcoming, and keen for me to unwind and relax, especially since it was my first gel manicure. She paid attention to detail and they do look gorgeous, so fingers crossed they last as long as I want them to!

I also had the luxury pedicure, which was good as I wanted to get rid of all my dead skin on my feet! Jade helped pick a normal nail varnish shade that would match the gels and she also advised me on what to do with a spilt nail on my big toe, which was very helpful. It was really lovely and relaxing, although I think she may have missed a little bit of the dead skin.

The treatment room is quite small and cosy in the basement of a hair salon so you just have to go straight downstairs when you enter, but both Jade and her colleagues are very welcoming and warm, and put you completely at ease straight away. At the end of my treatment, I did get the feeling I was being rushed out, as I was the last customer and it was getting late, but on the whole I enjoyed my treatments there. The location is handy and I would definitely recommend to others.

I really enjoyed my full body massage at Pure Beauty. I went with my sister on a Saturday and it actually seemed quite quiet which I was surprised about because it was the weekend. The venue was quite easy to find considering I didn't really know the area well and the staff were incredibly welcoming. It looks small when you step in, but it's a bit like a rabbit warren, with loads of rooms downstairs, so there was plenty of space and I didn't feel crowded at all.

The very lovely Sky did my massage and she was absolutely wonderful. Really considerate and just wanting me to relax, whispering if she needed to ask me something so that she wouldn't startle me. The pressure was spot on, and she used a really imaginative and relaxing mix of massage techniques on my back, legs, arms, hands, feet and scalp.

Even though we turned up 15 minutes late because of the trains, our massages still overran by a further 15 minutes so we still got star treatment. Really lovely venue with very professional and caring staff. We had a great time there and I would definitely recommend a visit.

Had an absolutely fantastic spa day at Amida Farnham. Their facilities are so impressive, highly polished and oozing a really relaxing atmosphere. They have so many sections that there is always more to explore, with at least four saunas, two steam rooms, scented showers and a couple of pools.

The various rooms were nicely spaced so there were no crowding issues and everything just looked gorgeous. The outdoor pool and jacuzzi were so nice, especially as it was sunny when we went so we could hit the sun loungers surrounding the pool. The indoor hydrotherapy pool was lovely too. The heated beds were so comfy, I very nearly dozed off.

I also enjoyed a full body, 55 minute aromatherapy massage with Frankie, who was super polite and friendly. The massage was really nice and especially seemed to focus on my legs, which is great as I do quite a lot of sport. We also indulged in lunch at the spa bar with some perfectly cooked pasta, and a hot chocolate and brioche finished my day off nicely!

The staff are so lovely, really polite and welcoming, which was fab considering I had had a nightmare journey on the M25 to get there! I thoroughly enjoyed my day and felt so chilled out at the end of it, I really could have stayed for longer. I would definitely recommend to anyone and I would love to go back.

Came here with my work colleagues for a one night spa break, including a back, neck and shoulder massage as well as use of facilities. It was really brilliant and I had an absolutely fantastic time. We arrived at about 1pm and our room was ready to go into straight away. We were able to go and get changed right away so that we could hit the spa!

The jacuzzi was great, and you could fit 8 people in there which was good for a larger crowd. The sauna and steam rooms are rather small, but right to each other and the jacuzzi. The pool is also a nice size, with a separate lane for serious swimmers which is good.

After splashing around for a bit, I headed to a treatment room for my massage which was really nice using a gently warmed oil. The massage was really soothing although it was a tad too firm at times, but I don't know if this is because I am still quite a massage newbie. The therapist was rather brisk and I did feel like one in a line of customers, but the actual treatment was nice, and she was still polite towards me.

After my treatment I explored the spa a bit more and I must say, I absolutely loved the heated water relaxation beds - they were divine! They were nice and toasty to lie on and super comfortable, think I ended up having a little nap. I also got to have a fish pedicure which was good fun and always an interesting experience!

The grounds surrounding the hotel are simply stunning, with views across the golf course and well worth a walk around. The food was also delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed all of my meals. The bedroom was quite roomy with a massive bathroom that had both a shower and bath. The beds were really comfortable and soft so I definitely had a good nights sleep.

On the whole, I had a really fantastic experience and I would definitely go back again! Thanks!

I went for a Thai Combination massage with Yanapat a couple of days ago, and it was beautifully blissful. I was meant to be having an hour treatment, but we overran by at least 20 minutes! The Thai Combination mixed Sports massage, Swedish massage and Thai massage, and the different styles really worked well together to makes sure that all your areas of tension were completely released. Being a bit of a massage newbie, she tailored her massage to suit that, adopting more of the gentler Swedish massage and less of the stretching Thai style. There is great attention to detail, with all your limbs getting a thorough massage both front and back.

It was a little bit hard to find, and not very well signposted, but local business owners were more than happy to point me in the right direction. It's upstairs above an estate agents and cafe. I ended up going in through a back way through a gym-like room! Near Baker Street station so great central location.

Really wonderful massage, can't rate it highly enough. It was so peaceful and relaxing - nearly dozed off a couple of times! I would recommend both the venue and Yanapat as a therapist.

I came here a little while back now for a Lash Lift treatment with the MYscara. I had never had any eye treatments previously, so I was nervous beforehand as I wasn't entirely sure what was involved. However my therapist Rachael was really brilliant and explained each stage to me and let me know what she doing, so even though I had my eyes shut, I didn't have to be nervous at all. It wasn't painful or uncomfortable in any way and Rachael had a really gentle touch. The results are staggering - my lashes are a pretty decent length anyway, but with this they were absolutely massive and so defined! They reached to right under my eyebrows. They also lasted for ages and were easy to look after. Made getting ready in the morning quicker and everyone I bumped into noticed as they were so gorgeous! I would definitely recommend! They would be ideal before jet setting off on holiday. Venue is gorgeous as always.

I went to Good Nature yesterday for a massage treatment and found it a very enlightening experience! The venue is quite difficult to find as it is on the first floor of a dental practice in Paddington, so you have to go up quite a lot of stairs to find the treatment rooms, but once you get there it is small and neat.

The therapists really know their stuff, and were able to pinpoint exact tension areas in my body, and where I was putting the most pressure on my joints. The massage was quite deep and they used a scented herbal oil at one point as well. My massage focused mainly around my neck and shoulders, while my friend who came with me had more of a back treatment. I found Yang, my therapist, extremely knowledgeable and I was completely comfortable with him giving me the massage.

The treatment was excellent and although I am feeling a bit sore today, I know it will be worth it! However, if you don't think you'd be comfortable with a male therapist, this may not be the venue for you. As they focus on Chinese medicine, it is more of a sports massage than a relaxing massage, but they aim to eliminate tension and discomfort in the same way a doctor would for his patient.
