I'd always wanted to visit Seaham Hall Spa since it opened and finally managed to get there for our recent wedding anniversary.
Splendid location by the sea - beautifully rugged pebble beach to wander on for a blow out.
Beautifully appointed rooms, all totally different, one room has a big bath tub in the bed room very much like the Hotel du Vin boutique hotels do soooo well!
My main criticism was the long trek to the spa area - its very much a hotel WITH a spa. This might suit some more than it did me. Yes you can wander over to the spa in your gown but there are lots of dressed and groomed guests too, so you might be embarrassed at being in your fluffies with greasy hair in that case.
And you have to be dressed to eat in the pan Asian style restaurant for lunch!! Tricky if you've just paid fro an expensive wrap or massage
Pool area is fine but they do let children stay at the hotel so this might be irritating if you've gone to escape from your little darlings.
Beautiful treatment rooms, friendly therapists. Lots of big fluffy towels.
As a professional therapist and facialist myself I admit I'm probably the worst kind of client to have walk through the door!
However time and time again I have gone to Ragdale Hall as my No.1 choice destination for a thorough "chill out". Two or three night here feels as restorative as a week away anywhere else.
Breakfast served in bed, lunches in your dressing gowns, dinner too if you wish!
Check in - dressing gown on, chill out! you only need to get dressed properly again to go home.l
Wonderful new Thermal Experience near the pool area, little candle lit water cave-pods, crystal steam rooms - heaven.
Great therapists too.
