Welcome to Yeotown, located in beautiful, unspoilt North Devon. A place where your body, mind and spirit can strengthen, detox and unify in the most invigorating of outdoor settings. There are three inspiring programmes on offer at Yeotown:
I signed up for a four-day detox at Yeotown, having experienced many programs before mainly in Thailand at Chiva Som and Six Senses. It was two hours from London by train to Tiverton (so no schlepping through airport security). I arrived Saturday lunchtime the day after a big wedding so was in need of a full detox. Once settled in I had a great session with the nutritionist then we had a light lunch of mainly greens and a great piece of line caught salmon. I was in for four days of no wheat, dairy, caffeine, alcohol etc.
Then we kicked off with a hike, (our guide kept us at 6 kmh) around the farm grounds and surrounding areas. Everyone was really taken aback with the scenery and the influx of clean oxygen. However one of our party had never seen cows in a country field before (she was from Saudi so fair enough) and was totally enamoured until she worked out what the brown pancakes peppering the field were.
Back to base we had 'yeotinis' a seriously healthy juice that really gave you a kick before launching straight into an amazing yoga session with Mercedes ( one of the program directors) . Dinner was light but filling and super tasty, all our party agreed that until Yeotown we never really realised how well you could eat by just eating vegetables and fish.
Next day up early for yoga practice and a breakfast smoothie that again to my amazement really filled me up. Then on to another glorious but demanding hike across amazing scenery for two hour plus then back to base for lunch and an afternoon upper body workout session with an ex armed forces trainer. He made up some really fun team games that made you forget you were actually working out. Mercedes threw in another killer abs class and yoga before we all sloped off for a sauna session followed by amazing massages (I’ve been know to stop massages if they aren't the real deal after five minutes and these were just what a proper massage should be) and then dinner. This programme repeated the next few days but was mixed up with a morning cycling an NLP and Tai Chi classes. As the toxins came out, the second day I had mild headaches and by the final day I honestly felt completely ready for anything. A supremely clear mind, body confidence and totally reprogrammed for city life. Since I have been back I'm sharper and just generally more on it and thoroughly recommend it to anyone ( plus I dropped 2.5 kilos !!)
