The Barnsley House Spa at Barnsley House 3 reviews

Write A ReviewWhat a beautiful, relaxing, stunning place to spend a few days - and the spa is first class too. I particularly like the outdoor pool - very invigorating and lovely to be in the fresh air. I enjoyed my treatments too, but it was the all the other stuff - beautiful rooms, delicious food, magical gardens, interesting people - that made this so special.

What made this spa so special was the overall atmosphere of Barnsley House. It was like being a weekend guest in a family home...owned by people who are genuinely enthusiastic entertainers!
We "sample a spa a year"...this was much more than a great spa, it was the most relaxing over all experience I can recall.

Tim and Rupert run a very special place. Home from home is an over-used phrase, but it sums up Barnsley House. The formal gardens, which are in fact charmingly wild, and the lush fruit and vegetable gardens are therapeutic in themselves, and the scent and rich colour of sweetpeas filled the lovely old house. We had lunch in The Temple overlooking the koi carp pond on the first day - solitude, 90 minutes west of London. Breakfast each day on our little private 'terrace' , or in bed - is there any other way? And gorgeous fresh produce, both in the restaurant and in the Village Pub, 300 yards from the end of the drive. Very civilised, yet informal; friendly yet wholly professional.
And the spa just adds the occasional past-time - and an opportunity for a touch of retail therapy - how could I leave the Elizabeth Hurley bikini in lime green with gold rings in the shop?
That was two and a half days in heaven. People like Rupert and Tim deserve to succeed. They have that touch of magic.
