Everything about Tamarind Village was heavenly. I went with a friend on a whim and we were both bowled over. We cycled up to the hotel through an avenue of arched trees, and upon arrival our bikes were secured for us. We made our way to the Spa through a charming cloistered walkway and some lovely gardens and were seated by the hostess and given a hot towel, a cup of warm bamboo water and the spa menu. I chose a facial and my friend a pedicure. The Facial began with the therapist washing my feet in a bath of warm herbal water, then she lay me down and got to work. At one point I remember having chilled very finely sliced cucumbers placed all over my face, but for the most part I was semi-conscious in blissful retreat. She finished the treatment with an amazing head massage and it was with some reserve that I finally got off the bed and back to reception to meet my friend. We were both given warm lemongrass tea, paid the (pretty pricey) bill and left feeling shiny, new and very chilled!
