The best way to keep fit, detox and enjoy the spirited company of others in beautiful surroundings. I will be returning before too long as i felt great for many days later. The issue is trying to maintain all the great walks in the countryside in the city!

I attended Slimmeria on my own and can't recommend it enough. A good 5'7'' size 14 I managed to lose 10.5lbs which exceeded my wildest dreams. The food aspect of the programme is not easy, but its only for a week. I particularly valued that the exercise was in the morning and the afternoon was free for you to relax, have spa treatments and/or take additional exercise on your own. This meant that I still felt like I had a bit of a holiday around the bootcamp. I am carrying on with renewed vigour in a healthy eating and exercise life and, when I hit a plateau, I would definitely consider returning.

I checked into Slimmeria over Easter to get away from everything and 'get my head together' (being a stressed out city dweller!), put the 'spring back in my step' (after months of eating lots of rubbish - Percy Pigs were my friend... hehe!) and (hopefully) lose a little bit of weight.

In the end I achieved all that and so much more!! Galia and her team could not have done more to make your stay comfortable and restful. There were great people there too; I made 4 lasting friendships!! The 'exercise' program of walking, yoga and core stability gave me my 'mojo' back and....*drum roll please* I lost 6kg!!!!! (n.b. to put it into perspective I am 6' and had about 2 stone to lose!)

Since I came home I continue to feel the benefits; I have a real spring in my step and continued to eat healthily and exercise, I am still dropping1 or 2 lbs ever week, I am easily one dress size smaller than before Easter and wearing those clothes thatI kept because I will soon fit them (you know what I mean!!) ....

I have finally plateaued and stopped losing weight after a holiday and house selling/buying stress..... But I know that Galia is right where I left her if I need her!! That is comforting but also enough to get myself to put down the cake and go to Zumba!!!

Galia and team - thanks for everything!

Not having exercised for over a year and being almost 24 stone my biggest ever weight I decided something needed to be done. Searching online I found Slimmeria and booked for a week on the Ultimate weight loss retreat.

Galia and the physical instructors Lisa and Adam were very supportive and the training was set at an achievable level but challenging. The afternoons were very relaxing after the hard work of the walks and gym, reading and even sleeping.

I returned home 15 lb lighter with lots of energy and fully motivated to continue the hard work to get fit and healthy. Started back at the gym first day back and will be signing up with a personal trainer soon. Hoping to stay on track now but if I do need an extra little boost then I will definitely go back again.

Went to Slimmeria for a 2 night detox break, not really knowing quite what to expect. The venue is amazing - only 1 1/2 hrs from London by train, yet it feels a world away! The house has been restored and decorated beautifully and the surrounding area is amazing - I've rarely enjoyed a walk so much, and I know that if I'd been staying longer I would never have got bored of the outdoors as there were so many different walks to take.

In terms of the experience itself, it was brilliantly organised yet never felt regimented. We woke just after 7am each morning and want down for a hot lemon detox drink, before putting on our boots and going off for a good long brisk walk. 5 of us went on the walk and I really liked that each of us was encouraged to walk at our own pace, pushing oursleves, but working to our limits. We took the option to extend our walk to get the benefit from our shorter visit. After the walk we had breakfast which was carrot juice (surprisingly OK!). Then onto core stability class which was great fun. It wasn't high impact aerobics, but rather exercises designed to work the core muscles ... we did some boxing, some weights, some floor things - a real mix. Then onto yoga which was great - perfect after the walk and class, to stretch our muscles.

Lunchtime was salad - a good size portion and again I surprised myself by quite enjoying it! After lunch came the treats ... a steam session, then a fabulous massage (one of the best I've had, and I really appreciated the focus on my hard-worked legs!) and then the most relaxing facial I've had (I did nod off!). I really enjoyed the next few hours of total relaxation (which included exotic fruit and herbal tea) reading a magazine in the beautifully calming relaxation area looking out onto the outdoor pool. If I'd been staying longer I would definitely have taken advantage of the really well priced extra beauty options and maybe even horse riding at the local stables or something else outdoors!

Dinner was probably my least favourite meal but all good stuff and very edible - I could feel it doing me good! I was weighed when I arrived and left, and in my 2 nights there I lost 3 pounds which was amazing. I didn't go to lose a lot of weight, but really wanted to get the motivation to start a healthier way of living. I won't stick to the diet necessarily, but will take on board the really simple and achievable good habits like drinking more water (especially before mealtimes), walking more, and swapping caffeine for healthier options. I have also discovered that carrot juice isn't that bad, and does a lot of good!

I can't speak highly enough of the experience - just the right combination of motivation and encouragement, balanced with letting you make your own choices about the level of exercise etc. This is obviously a project close to Galia's (the owner) heart and her enthusiasm and belief really inspires you to want to make a difference to your life. I would totally recommend this experience to both people looking to make major changes to their diet, lifestyle and weight (one lady there had lost a stone in a week) and to people who just want to get away from it all and enjoy a healthy and pampered break to relax and unwind! I hope to go back for 5 days with friends later in the year.
