Scin Notting Hill
part of Scin Spa
Sorry. This venue is now closed
This venue is conveniently located very close to Portobello Rd, the therapy rooms are down one of the steepest and narrowest staircases I have ever seen and they are quite small, but my therapist was excellent and it was one of the best facials I've had in London, would definitely recommend.

I had a bikini wax here and it was probably the worst one i have had in a long time. the therapist was very messy and left bits of wax all over my bottom and later i noticed, on my legs. She was pulling the wax away instead of going against the grain. She started using strip was in certain areas as she kept missing bits. And for almost 50 quid this was horrendous value for money.

the staff in the spa were lovely and as the hydrotherapy pool was broken I was given a full manicure instead of 30 minutes.
My massage was wonderful and I asked for the pressure to be firm and it was excellent, the spa staff are young and chatty and made me feel very comfortable and relaxed.
My only complaint was that the decor has got a bit shabby and the bathroom had damp, the stairs to the treatment rooms were extremely steep so would not be suitable for someone with mobility difficlties.

It was absolutely amazing, exactly what I needed.
As this was my first experience at a spa Ior having a full body massage I was unsure what to expect, which made me feel quite uncomfortable.
I explained this on the phone when I made my booking & a lady was called Nicky was very helpful. On my arrival I was mae to feel very welcome & if I'm honest surprise that Nicky remembered me from when I phone to make my booking.
At the time of making my booking I was informed that the hydrotherapy pool wasn't working, but may be working at the time of my booking as a repair had already been booked.
This wasn't an issue & I appreciated the advance warning, as there is nothing worse than looking forward to something, only to be disappointed.
I was offered a cup of tea on arrival, informed that the hydrotherapy pool was still not working but could select an alternative 15min treatment instead. I was then advised of what to expect for my selected treatments.
My alternative treatment was eyebrow threading.
I experienced eybrow threading which was relaxing & unpainful, as has been the case with past experiences. I was then taken to a massage room for an hour, where I experienced an hour of a sensual most certainly relaxing full body massage. Which I must add made me feel very relaxed, rejuvinated & clear minded. After this I got dressed & experienced a lovely pedicure with a lovely selection on nail polishes to chose from.
I will most certainly be attending here again & have recommended to quite a few others.
This is definately a must, you won't be disappointed. Go on......treat yourself

Got myself the recent Mobdeal (Murad massage, facial + nail polish) and it was great. Therapist did a great job, skin looked wonderful and all very relaxing! Recommend to anyone.

I got the mobdeal for my sister to visit Scin and she loved it!
She came out of the facial with a really nice glow and the therapist gave some good advice on how to treat her skin. The manicure looked lovely and she really enjoyed it! Thanks Scin!

I had pedicure with a voucher purchased through Wahanda. £20 for a treatment worth £50.
The salon ground floor is quite small and has manicure tables arranged along a curved wall. There is nothing luxurious about this place. Simple white walls and benches and some colour thrown in with turquoise towels.
There are no pedicure chairs which was a first huge disappointment (apparently the main salon has them). You have to perch on an uncomfortable bench and then put your feet into the therapists lap. I could not feel my behind after sitting down like this for the duration of the proceure.
The magazines I was handed were really old so there was nothing to entertain myself with while I had the procedure done.
I was offered some peppermint tea which was fine but unfortunately had scale from the kettle at the bottom of the tea cup.
Never in my experience I had to watch the therapist like a hawk and explain to her how the procedure needs to be carried out. She was awkward and did not inspire any confidence. She did not ask me how long I like my toe nails and cut them too short. She also cut one at a really weird angle so its all wonky now. She clearly had absolutely no idea how pedicure should be done and that there is more to it than just pushing cuticles back . Her colleague had to step in 10 minutes into the procedure because I was prepared top leave. The second therapist had steadier hand and gave me an 'ok' pedicure. I certainly would not pay any more than £20 for this quality and cannot comprehend how they can even charge people £50. I'm just upset I wasted my time going to this place.
My local pedicure place has a massage chair and amazing therapists who know how to revive your feet, all for £25. No more experiments with random spa's for me.
