Our Flagship hair salon, RUSH Baker Street is a Shu Uemura salon that opened its doors in March 2009. Located in the heart of bustling Marylebone, the salon’s expert team of Stylists offer the finest in Ladies and Gents Cuts, Colour & Treatments, as well the latest ‘must have’ service; the Brazilian Blowdry. RUSH Baker Street also boasts a dedicated Blowdry Bar and a curtained Shu Uemura spa area, specifically tailored to the needs of nearby professionals and residents alike.

Based in the recently developed 55 Baker St, the impressive building, featuring sections of angular, lattice-like glass, is a sight to behold. The salon’s sleek, monochrome, interior, inspired by the work of the famous Japanese architect Tadao Ando, has been heralded as ‘a dramatic, yet calming haven of black gloss’ by Wallpaper* as well as a ‘contemporary, slick design’ by Handbag.com.

RUSH Baker Street was the first of our salons to stock the luxurious brand Shu Uemura, adding an element of exclusivity to this stunning salon. In addition a wide range of homecare products such as Kérastase, L’oreal techni art, Corioliss and ghd are available to ensure you stay looking good, for longer. Performed by professional hair artists, Shu Ceremony treatments are a unique tailor-made haircare journey that appeal to all the senses, inspired by the traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony and Shiatsu scalp and upper body massages, you can choose from an Initiation (15 mins), Intense, (25 mins) Karaa (30 mins) or Deep Ceremony (50 mins).

aafisher1- I booked to have my colour done with a 50% voucher. I was told on booking the cost would be £28 and the discount applied to one service only. The stylist was very helpful in advising what colour would work best and told me that she was also going to use a conditioning treatment on my hair. I thought great. The stylist implied there was no additional charge for this treatment however, I asked to confirm and was told that treatments started at £15 and went up to £30. I decided against the treatment and the stylist continued to push the treatment. It became a bit uncomfortable and like a hard sell - it made me wonder whether she was on commission! I expressed I didn't want to spend the extra money. Before washing out my colour, I was asked whether I wanted a rough dry or blow dry. I said blow dry. She blow dried my hair well and I was happy. When I came to pay the total was £71, £28 for the colour and £43 for the blow dry. I'm disappointed not to have been told about the additional cost of blow drying which even compared to top hair salons is excessive. I've left feeling ripped off and disappointed won't return on this basis. Watch out if you think you're getting a good deal with the 50% voucher! I paid £35 in Headmasters for colour and a blow dry a couple of months ago.
