We bought a wahanda deal. Firstly couldnt find it. Very subtle ! when we did the reception staff were not welcomign - in fact quite clueless. They reluctantly took us downstairs and left us as soon as they could to get back to their chatting ! Masseur was quite nice but her massage was dreadful. I asked her for a gentle aromotherapy massage at "medium". She gave me a very hard sports massage. the only thing I liked was the pool. The jacuzzi had scum on it ! yuk ! and on leaving - the girl on reception (red hair) hardly bothered to look up never said bye and certainly had no interest in whether we had had a wonderful experience. NEVER go again ! total waste of money ! Lynne.

I went to Royal Day Spa with a friend for the day. We had a really great time. The spa was pretty quiet so we were lucky to have the pool and the jacuzzi pretty much to ourselves. The pool doesnt have clorine in it which I really liked, nothing worse than going for a swim and then coming out smelling like bleach!

The place was decorated really well, with lots of lovely shabby chic touches. The staff were very friendly and helpful and my therapist was great. I had a holistic ritual which was very indulgent. I really liked the massage technique used, my therapist explained that a lot of Lymphatic Drainage is used in the treatment which is great for detoxing. The whole holistic approach to all the treatments was great.

We then tucked into an amazing afternoon tea in the day room. It was a tower of goodness! I felt truly stuffed and totally relaxed by the end of it.

Royal Day Spa really is a little hidden jem, I love the boutique feel to the place and it has a real personal feeling. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to get out of London for the day for some relaxing time.

Best experience was the fantastic yoga class that I was able to join on the day - this was not planned - it was such a suffocatingly hot day that the subterranean salt water pool, jacuzzi and steam room where too much (I had to go into the ladies changing rooms to access a cold shower) and thankfully the class was not full. The instructor was excellent and as there were only 3 of us (myself included) I got plenty of individual attention so I knew what I was doing.
The yoga room (also later used as the lunch area) was the only place with natural light, everything else is underground.
The treatments also took place in a subterranean room, so it was unbearably hot.
I felt sorry for the therapist who had to work in such conditions (underground , electric lights).
I had paid for a whole spa day experience so I had to grin and bear it.
I do not plan to repeat the experience. Perhaps it is better in the winter.

I bought this as a present for my friend for Christmas. Phoned to book and it was all confirmed. My friend called to check a couple of weeks before we went and again confirmed. When we arrived having driven 80 miles we were not on their list and nor were at least 3 other couples. Whilst the place is ok it was very crowded ans the steam room wasn't working. Not a very good experience and wouldn't go again again.

Bought a day at the spa plus massage as a birthday treat and group booking with friends through Last Minute.com. I coudn't get through to anyone to book, by the time I did the first appointment wasn't available for another 4 months - after my voucher was due to expire! Not really what you'd call a last minute spa break! So after another few months of haggling I finally managed to get a refund- this did not come easily. Awful customer service, obviously they're not geared up to deal with lots of bookings so I would not recommend even trying!

Do not confuse this place with the delights of real spa experiences.
Maybe in its hay day this was a spa, now it's grotty. Staff are dreadful, stains on the cushions, towels (well i say towels, they only give you one) are grating on the skin. As as the staffs attitudes.

We have been messed around with every single booking so far.

Customer Service and Value for money let this place down. Great pool, jacuzzi and giant bed - loved being with my friend and relaxing. Lovely showers.
However the lunch was very expensive for what it was i.e. a few sandwiches and a couple of cakes and one glass of fizzy water!
Also when my friend wanted to buy products at the end the staff knew very little about each item and had no tester available so she didn't buy anything.
If I hadn't got the Wahanda deal of 2 for 1 this price would ridiculous (136 pp!)

I have to agree with many reviews I have read of this place. You buy a voucher, excited at spending a lovely day in a spa, but form the minute you phone the experience goes downhill. I couldn't even get to speak to someone on my first phone call and was told I would be called back 'within 5 days'. This is just to see what availability they have. Then when the call back finally came, same problem everyone else seems to have had, could not get a booking for about 6 months. How can they sell all these vouchers that are valid for 6 months, available to use on a Sunday but then you are told there are no Sundays available for 6 months. Something is not right. We did get a booking eventually, and it was a nice day but I am very glad I did not pay full price. Staff were just ok, the place was not really looked after as rubbish was left around, pools of water everywhere, jacuzzi not working, drinks not refilled enough etc. If you manange to get a cheap voucher and get booked in then it is worth it but otherwise stear clear, it is not worth all the effort!

Do not attempt to book vouchers online for this place and expect a Last Minute booking at the Royal Day Spa! It simply won't happen, in fact you would be lucky to get a booking before your voucher expires.

They are a joke! Steer clear and opt for somewhere with a better reputation, better facilities and better reviews!

me and my partner visited this spa last week. I just used the facilities whilst my partner had a full body massage, he said it was fantastic, the therapist was great, she tailored the treatment to meet his needs. The swimming pool was fantastic, its salt water and it was very refreshing. The staff were very helpful, polite and friendly the spa was clean and tidy. All in all we had a fantastic day and hope to go back very soon. Don't take any notice of the bad reviews, we had a great day with no problems, just 100% pure relaxation. Would reccomend to everyone!
