The trial session was very informative - the staff really explained the benefits of power plate training and we went through a typical session step by step. My body ached the next day after only having done 20 minutes exercice, very effective!

This is in a great location for me as its easy to walk to from home. The overall atmosphere was ok as I went with a group of friends. The instructor gave us an 'easy' time whereas I would have preffered to be pushed a little harder but he didnt want to scare us off on our trial session.

Although there are quite a few power plate machines only a small number are used per session which is good.

Overall I enjoyed this session with Powertone Fulham, the studio wasnt as polished and styled as other venues I have been to but the staff are friendly and you get what you want, a good workout!

This is a really effective way to tone up, after the first session, I could really feel the work I had done - my muscles were so sore! However, after the second session, I was much more used to it, and I could still feel the work I had done, but it wasn't nearly as sore. Unfortunately, this is bit too pricey for me to go too often. I would recommend it to those that can afford it though!

The idea of exercising for 20 minutes and get a benefit is great, but i thnk it's too expensive since you need it at least 3 times a week.
It suits more people who don't have time and will power to practise regular sports and who have the money to get in shape without spending hours and hours at a gym.
I do already exercise and i have been told one class a week is not enough! Unfortunately i don't have the money to do it more and i still would like to do it but in addition to my regular training because i actually like the traditional way of exercising.

I took advantage of a free Power Plate trial at the end of May. I chose the Fulham branch because of previous glowing reviews on Wahanda even though it wasn't my nearest branch. It was definitely the right decision! I had to change the time of my session twice at the last minute and Jason (manager) couldn't have been more accommodating! Unlike the session I had attended at 'Movers&Shapers' where I barely got to try the plate so busy were they trying to pressure me into signing up for courses, and certainly didn't get to experience a real PowerPlate session, at Fulham Jason went through the basics and I then did a normal session with another regular client- Jason said as it was my first time he'd keep things lower, I protested that I don't know the meaning of the phrase 'low impact' so in the end I had a really good workout! When we had finished our session, the regular client left and Jason said that as they only had one person booked in for the next session (they have 4 PowerPlates in total so that is the maximum you would have in the class), if I was up to it, I could stay for that one too this time with Heidi! YESSSS- that's like holding a red rag to a bull! I have to say I was tired towards the end of the second session and was warned I might be a bit sore the next day, but I'm happy to report I felt absolutely fine. As well as the usual press-ups, sit-ups etc on the Plate, we also did moves using medicine balls, and worked our biceps, triceps and deltoids using the strap attached to the plate.
It was obvious that Jason knew his stuff and whilst I was doing the PowerPlate, another client was having a Personal Training session with an instructor who, judging by the size of his arms, took weightlifting very seriously! The studio also had a small amount of other equipment: weights/ dumbells, rowing machine etc.
The difference with Fulham Powertone Studios is that the people working there are professional sports instructors unlike many places which are glorified beauty salons. The atmosphere was friendly and comfortable, there were alot of laughs and the staff were motivating without being patronising. When I made mistakes there was no criticism, just giggles (from me!) and gentle correction. That also inspired confidence in the trainers- they were very conscientious, checking that our bodies were in correct positions etc.
There was no hard sell or pressure to sign up for courses, in fact it was me who asked for a pricing schedule at the end as I was leaving! The prices seem reasonable and there are discounts for block bookings and off-peak. Although I'm not in a position to attend right now, if and when I decide to incorporate PowerPlate into my exercise regime, I will definitely be heading down to Fulham.

THANKS JASON!

I was invited to the Fulham Studio to try out Powertone for free, by the Wahanda Wellness Club. I actually arrived at the event quite late and feared that as the last group session was just finishing, I may have missed my opportunity to try out the Power Plate machine. But I need not have worried. The very friendly staff arranged for me to have a one to one session, with the trainer, after the last group session finished.

I have to be honest, I had no idea what to expect.

The power plate machine looks a running machine, but with a plate where the track would be. Sebastian the trainer said we would start with a test of my flexibility, a minutes step and tuck for each legs. I was thinking pretty easy... then he turned on the machine. Crikey! After 30 seconds my thighs were shouting at me for not staying in better shape. Once both legs had been tested, I felt like I had been for a run. I’m not ashamed to admit I needed a little breather before we moved on to the next exercise. We then progressed through a variety of squats, steps, stretches and lunges; finishing off with mini leg massage on the plate.

I was very surprised at how much the power plate worked the muscles exercised and I was really impressed at how the taster session left me feeling like I had had a serious gym session in between a mini marathon. For someone like me, who works odd, irregular hours, finding an activity like Power Plate, that can provide a through workout, in a relatively short time frame at a very affordable rate, is ideal.

Plus the studio itself was a welcoming space, big enough to accommodate a group session if that is your thing, but also intimate enough to just have a one to one if, without feeling you are on show. Finally when my session was over, Jason the Manager, had a chat with me about nutrition, which was really helpful.

I had a really good experience at the Fulham Studio and I will certainly be trying Powertone again.

I went down to the Powertone studio in Fulham last week to try out power plates. It was a freebie fitness session which Wahanda Wellness Club had invited me to. I went down not knowing what I was getting myself into but when I arrived I was greeted by friendly staff, given an introduction to the machines and asked to fill out a quick form.

The studio consists of two changing cubicles, a massage room and four power plates. The studio is very spacious, clean, bright and has a refreshing feel to it. Four power plates may seem very minimal but in actual fact it is better because four people to one instructor ensures that each individual is given enough attention. The best thing about it, is that if you are the only one that turns up to the class, you get a personalised one on one session.

We did a very intense work out, our instructor, Sebastian, got us doing lunges, squats and all sorts of exercises. Within the first 10 minutes I could already feel the sweat building up. One of the group members wanted to focus on her stomach and Sebastian instantly showed us all a position on the power plates to work our stomach. He paid attention to everyones requests and that's what I really liked about him.

After the session had finished we were given the opportunity to ask questions about the power plates and we were all given a complimentary pass to another session, which I will definitely be using.

Overall, I have to say very impressive!

I was luckily invited along to try out Powertone for free thanks to the Wahanda Wellness Club events. Although it was a bit out of the way for me, the venue was really impressive in a quiet residential area. Though it's quite small, they have made it so bright and airy that it seems a lot bigger and is a refreshing change from stuffy gyms - it looks brand new.

After filling out a short form, we got changed - there are only two cubicles, but they are very spacious and there is also a massage room which was free so we used it as a dressing room as well. There were only 4 Power Plates in total, but in my opinion this is what makes it so good - the staff really know what they are doing and are there to help at all times, making sure your technique is right and giving personal attention to each client.

Sebastian was our trainer, and he first of all checked our flexibility which apparently can be dramatically improved after just one session! We then did a taster session on the Power Plates. Varying between squats, lunges and other positions we did mainly leg exercises and it felt really intensive. What's great about Power Plates is that once you've worked out and stretched, they can also be used to massage your muscles, so we finished off with a very relaxing mini massage on the plate. My flexibility hadn't improved but others in the group had, and I'm sure with more sessions I would get better.

After the session, Sebastian talked us through why it works so well, how often you should aim to do it and how it works for different people. It was really good to hear how they personalise the sessions - they hold classes, but if only you show up, you still get to do it (not something which is often done in other exercise classes) and it's basically a personal training session for a fraction of the cost!

Jason, the manager also showed us the NARL machine which sounds fantastic - it helps burn fat quicker - and is definitely something I want to try. All in all I enjoyed the session and can see why it's addictive - with helpful, friendly staff who motivate you and a workout which is more effective than going to a gym, I will definitely be going back for the complimentary session which we were all offered at the end!

I had a chance to try out the Powertone studio in Fulham as part of the Wahanda Wellness event and I have to say I really liked it. The facility is clean, bright and has a great feeling. I had a half-hour session with Sebastian and was amazed and how much of a workout he was able to give me in such a short time. It seems like Powertone has put together a great team of trainers at this facility and I know they will tailor things to what works best for you -- I asked to get pushed and certainly got it!

If you have not tried power plate I really recommend that you try it -- you will be amazed at how effective it is. Given that the classes are always very small I also think its great value as you are essentially getting a personal training lesson for 50-70% less than what it would cost elsewhere. Best, of all Powertone has a bunch of other services at this location which seem worth trying.

My only complaint is that there is no shower but at least the changing room is roomy and comfortable.

all the staff at the Fulham powerplates are delightful, friendly and really motivational. They are really helpful and push you to achieve the best results. I definitely prefer using the power plates to normal gym sessions and can really see and feel the difference in my fitness levels quickly.
