I was really nervous about keeping my appointment at this salon having read the reviews and very nearly cancelled. However I decided to go and felt forewarned was forearmed!!
My appointment was brilliant - Natalie was my stylist and she was chatty but not overly talkative. She had a look at a couple of styles I had brought pictures of and advised me patiently and taking my hair care routine (or lack thereof!) in to account. I have a lovely head massage and Kerastase treatment - it is a spray on treatment but left my curly dry hair so smooth for days afterwards.
Natalie took great care over the drying and styling and I left feeling great - with a 50% off voucher for my next visit.
The salon is a little tired but the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating.
Well worth a visit - and with a groupon voucher, excellent value!

I too was nervous going to this salon having read the reviews. However, my whole experience of my visit was really positive. The staff were really friendly. Natalie, my stylist was lovely, she did a great cut, I had the best head massage Ive ever had at a salon and my hair smells lovely! I would recommend this salon.

I went there with a Groupon voucher and was really nervous after the reading the reviews but was really pleased - the haridresser was plesant but not overley chatty which for me is good - I had a Keratese treatment cut and blow dry - she listened to what I wanted and did exactly what i said and made some suggestions of her own which worked well - really pleased with the result

Went on a Groupon voucher with my sister for cut, style and kerastase treatment on Friday 3 June in the afternoon. I had Natalie and my sis had Kirstie.
I know these guys have some bad reviews out there so I was a bit nervous about going.
The reception was friendly - not overly so but just enough.
Natalie did a great job on my hair. I had quite a lot cut off and she followed the picture I'd brought in with me to the letter.
My sister was also very happy with her cut - she had a trim so quite simple but she liked the blow drying and styling and was happy with the result.
The team is very young so if you're a woman in your 40s or 50s you may feel a little distanced and conversation is a bit limited but who goes to the hairdressers for conversation? I chatted a little with Natalie and she was polite and friendly and most importantly, she did a good job!
I promised I would post a good review because I feel the bad ones always get posted but satisfied customers can be quite lazy.
So, overall my sis and i were very pleased with our experience :-)

Groupon voucher: thought I was running late and called them, the receptionist was pretty brusque as though the salon was full instead I was first one there that morning! The salon was disappointing, more a run down high st. suburban shop than a high end group salon.
Instead of a senior stylist I got a new boy who had been there less than a week, no one else appeared to ask me anything. But a blonde girla dn a fortyish male came out during the morning to do other people's hair. The boy who did my hair didn't know what to do, had to get my hair washed twice because he had not washed out the tint properly. He "trimmed" my hair and I left looking awful. And that was meant to be a £165 hair job! Luckily I was able to get my money refunded after complaining to Groupon, but it took much more to remedy the awful hair "trim".

I have seen the offer being repeated by Groupon. My advice: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. Go to O Spa or SENS at the Hilton, both warm, client focused salons, worth the visit.

DON'T GO HERE... i had my hair cut by a suposed senior stylist, and i asked for a TRIM (i had very long, thick hair before I went in) and she cut off a good 5 inches giving me a thick grown out bob with NO LAYERS which i had asked for. The cut is terrible. It doesn't frame my face at all. I'm VERY angry that she cut off a lot of my hair when i said that i wanted to keep it long. THEN, I asked her at the end to cut in a few more layers becasue i couldn't noticve any and she said no, and that she had already done. I would never go here again no matter how cheap it was!!!!! I can't comment on the toehr stylists but don't get your hair cut by kirsti!

On the whole a poor to average experience.

On my arrival at the salon, I was seated immediately however was not offered anything to drink until well into the appointment (despite being given magazines to read). Not a completely bad start. It has to be said that the ambience in this place was poor. To me the salon is slightly reminicent of an 90's hairdresser which didn't instill me with much confidence from the start, despite my young sylist.

Whilst the hair appointment was quite quick - 2 hours for a FH hightlight, cut and blow dry (not bad at all) - I was a little 'surprised' with the finished blow-dry. The salon might have reminded me of the 90's but the finished style reminded me of the 80's (cemented by the fact that my housemate shrieked with laughter upon my return home).

I had managed to secure quite a good deal for this appointment (£58 in total - absolute bargain) but there is no way that i would fork out good money to go back there again and pay full price. A harmless enough salon but i've gone to other places and come out feeling good about myself - not so much at O'Sullivans though.

no way what so ever anyone would recommend this place. i went to get highlights and cut yesterday evening for xmas parties this week. after 20 minutes i requested a hot drink and magazine. this was in the blackfriars salon.
anyway... when my hair was done it was patchy. there were ginger bits in patches and blonde in other places. i never saw such a disaster before. i told the guy to re do it and got dirty looks from the staff from then on. a different guy took over. while he was re doing my hair i pointed some ginger bits to him that needed to be included in the foil highlights. he curtly told me 'i know what i am doing'. that shut me up!
in the end my hair turned out yellowish roots - you know that brassy yellow cheap colour you would only get with (i'm guessing) a home kit? well that's how it looks. it's awful. i was in that salon for 4 hours... i'm so fed up :(
i got offered a 50% discount on my next visit. i told them i wouldn't be back. at no stage did the manager speak to me or try to resolve the issue. i will be taking this further. the value of my experience was £172 - an absolute disgrace.
please, please, please stay away. i don't normally write reviews, but i swear this is a place to avoid.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Initially quite hard to get an appointment (I wanted one on my 30th birthday which sadly wasn't possible) but then very happy to rebook me when work got in the way. Welcoming and attentive. Had a cut, colour and treatment all of which I'm very happy with. Felt like they actually listened to what I wanted. All the other clients seemed happy and chatty so the atmosphere was lovely. All the stylists seemed to be giving advice and answering questions. Tiny points I would ask them to improve, the towels were pretty worn and tatty and although the screens by every mirror are great could we not have the soundtrack to go with the videos?! I did have to ask for more coffee when waiting for my colour to take but they were very happy to oblige. Also got a bit cold (it was a horrible day) but as soon as I mentioned it they turned the heating on! So only tiny points, generally very pleased. I will definately go back.
