The treatment room & massage table were impeccable, as was the therapist (Stefan from Germany).
He did what every massage therapist should do - he introduced himself, told me what treatment I was having, what order and what body parts he was gong to address, and then asked if I had any problem areas or special requests for areas I wanted him to pay extra attention to. He also offered me a glass of water prior to my treatment, and asked if the music and the temperature were OK.
I can't tell you how few therapists do this - it shows that the Mont Cervin Spa has some great training on etiquette. On top of this, the treatment rooms are just lovely, and the massage table is large and very comfortable. One additional nice touch which I had only previously seen in Asia is that when you are staring down through the massage table to the floor, rather than looking at the floor the spa puts a lovely flower with some nice smelling oils. Much better than looking at the tiled floor.
On to the treatment - it was fantastic, albeit expensive. 165 Swiss Francs, or about 100 euros for a 50 minute massage, but I must admit that Stefan was extraordinary. After four days of skiing, he really massaged away all of my soreness and I fel unbelievable afterwards. He used some candle warmed olive oil, and was as pleasant as can be.
A few squabbles about the place - the waiting area for the treatment is the reception which is the main reception, so waiting in a robe can feel a bit disarming. Also, the changin room is small, and the spa does not make it easy for you to transition from the treatment floor down to the pool, sauna, wellness centre floor (in fact, I believe I would have had ot pay an additional 20-25 Swiss Francs, which seems unneccessary if you are already having a treatment).
Overall, I would definitely go back - lovely spa, and very well trained staff. Just missing that bit of opulence and extra touch of seamless integration between spa & wet areas/wellness centre to get 5 stars.
