I was very excited when there was another promotion by Metta Urban Spa on Wahanda as I had a fantastic experience the first time I went there. Needless to say this second time I went didn't disappoint.
Mimi, the therapist and owner, was either very knowledgeable or intuitive or both as she knew exactly where my problem areas where. At times it was a bit painful but I had been very tensed so I knew it wasn't gonna be and I didn't want it soft.
I would highly recommend her as well as her colleague I'm sure and here's hoping there'll be another promo soon.
This was my second visit to Metta and it was as good as the first. I had the Thai massage but also had herbal compresses during it which were wonderful. The therapist, Alicia, is extremely competent and really good at getting you realxed and de-stressed. Her masasge skills are excellent and, as someone who really suffers with tension and knots in my back, I can tell you she earns her money working on me!
My friend was looked after by Mimi and she is very happy with her as well. We are looking at dates to go back again and are on our way to becoming regular clients. The therapsists work with you to help you get the best out of your massage and it is money well spent as far as we are concerned.
The treatment rooms are in the basement of the Electric tanning salon and it is a little Oasis in the west end.

The atmosphere was fine, though I had to wait for 10min or so to be served. Massage itself was very nice with experienced staff and I was able to relax afterward.

I went to Metta Urban Retreat for an 80 min massage. The venue is just off Oxford Circus, tucked away in the basement of a beauty salon. Despite this unassuming location the place is very quiet and relaxing. I was greeted with a free drink before my therapist Alicia talked me through the treatment. She was quite keen to adapt the program and came up with a combination of deep tissue and thai massage. The treatment was truly amazing. Alicia first worked hard on my tense muscles before moving onto more relaxing techniques - so relaxing, in fact, that I almost fell asleep at some point. I would definitely go back.

Overall this was a very enjoyable experience, and one that I would definately recommend.
The therapist was professional, knowledgeable and pleasant, and carefully structured the message to fully consider the injury concerns that I had.
In particular one muscle strain in my upper back almost completely vanished within a couple of days after the treatment.
The only negative is the location.- As other reviewers had commented, Metta was completely hidden away at the back of another premise, and not at all visable from the street. However,I was prepared for that,
Inside the other shop,Metta is located in a rather small basement area which is not particularly welcoming, but once inside the rooms are fine and the treatment and the therapist more than made up for the outside surrounds. - Not to be missed!

Fantastic welcome from Mimi, the whole experience was a pleasure from start to finish, probably one of the best massages I have ever had! Excellent value!

I had a massage that combined both aromatherapy and thai. The therapist was a small woman and i thought that she wouldn't be strong enough to apply strong pressure but she was amazing! Really had a great time, although not the best massage but it was a great experience.

We have been going to Metta for a couple of months and would not let anyone else to touch us. The lovely staff is very experienced (one of them trained as a doctor!), alway smiley and responsive to our problems and aches. Thanks to Metta I managed to get rid of my very bad menstrual pain when short-sited doctors saw only one option - an operation. I am therefore very grateful to Metta and their methodical approach and knowleadge. I sleep much better now as well when I had problems before. Metta loves their work and it is very visible - they genuinely want to help, care about our wellbeing and are clearly experts in their field. Their hand are definitely healing! We are both very grateful to them - it's the best massage we've had, simply amazing, we always feel energised and our backs are getting much better from one session to another. We would very much recommend Metta.

I went to Metta for an 80 minute personalised massage that I bought as a Wahanda Spotlight deal. The venue is very centrally located, just 5 minutes walk from Oxford Circus tube, and is downstairs in a tanning salon. The treatment rooms were very nicely decorated and relaxing with dim lights and music playing. The therapsist spent time before the massage discussing what I liked and would suit me as a massage - I had a Swedish style massage which concentrated on my shoulders and legs as those are more tense areas for me (from sitting at a desk / doing lots of running). I felt relaxed straight away, which was good considering I had rushed from the office to get there. Overall this was an excellent massage and I really enjoyed it - the therapist really listened and I would recommend going there for a treatment.
