I was there for the first time and I will definitelly go back. I got the appointment confirmed within hours and the eyebrow shaping I got was really good. The (student) therapist was very nice to me and did a great job on my crazy eyebrow.
I will go back to try other treatments and I will do eyebrow shape again.

It was really cheap, and I guess you get what you pay for. Go in knowing that these girls are still training, and while they are the best part about the place, it is not relaxing at all, or ambient, it is hard to try and relax when overhead incandescent lights are left on full whack and you can hear talking and chatting through curtains. It is also slightly awkward when the tutor comes in afterwards to check up on how the student did. I recommend this place for cheap manicures and eyebrows and cheap maintenance facials. Nothing relaxing about it.

After picking up a voucher at Britain's Next Top Model Live I thought I'd give the London College of Beauty Therapy a try. The voucher gave me my first treatment at just £5 and I opted for a prescriptive facial. The therapists there are all training and are at varying points in their courses so I was concerned it would be a but hit-or-miss, but my beauty therapist was very good. It took a little longer than usual while she double checked things with her tutor, but I walked away with fabulous-feeling skin so there are no complaints from me. After all, they have to put in the hours to become fully qualified so it's good to give them the opportunity. Next time I think I'll try a manicure.

I went for an EMS facial, which is a non surgical facelift procedure including cleansing, toning, steam, hydrating mask and application of microcurrent to stimulate muscle tone in the face. The machine emits slight electric pulses which make the facial muscles contract and strengthen.
I noticed a marked difference in my face afterwards, my problem areas are jowl and neck and my jaw contour looked firmer and so was my double chin!
My therapist was Cloe, a quiet but very professional student, who demostrated good leadership skills as she had to ask her chatty colleagues to be quiet during my treatment. I commend her for that, as this time I was upstairs rather than in the main salon downstairs and most of the students were having a proper natter among themselves.
I am very pleased with the treatment and as usual by the warm reception at the salon.

I am so pleased with my deep cleansing facial today. My therapist was Rasita, so lovely and professional, with a beautiful healing touch.
I can't think of a better way to start the week than getting a facial on a Monday morning: not only my skin was glowing at the end, but being told that my skin looks beautiful (and I am on the wrong side of 30!) just made the day. And the week!
My skin is very sensitive and it gets very red, it's difficult for me to find the right products, I still had some redness as expected but it wasn't uncomfortable, so I am pleased with that.
The staff were super friendly, I just love this place. I will go back in 2 weeks to have another facial.

Yesterday I had a pink manicure to support Breast Cancer Campaign at the London College, as I will be giving an industry talk on massage this Friday and I was really interested in meeting the team there.
My therapist was Myrika, she's very focuses, talented and knows what she wants in life. She also wants to do well in her course so please go and see her on Mondays as we wants to get as much practice as possible for her exams.
The whole experience was very pleasurable, from the appointment staring bang on time, to the consultation, the manicure itself and meeting Chalene, the organiser of the industry talks for the students.
I will go back to have more treatments, I am intrigued to try more advanced techniques like the rejuvenation, slimming and hair removal treatments.

I have regularly attended appointments at the LCBT in Soho and am surprised to read such negative comments. Beauty treatments in London booked at short notice are usually very expensive and used to be an occasional luxury for me the day after pay-day, but nowadays I can afford to go for facials and mani-pedis far more often thanks to this spa.

Something to remember - you get what you pay for. A pedi here costs around 11.50GBP, and a facial around 20 GBP - less than half the cost that you'd get in a normal salon, so I have not ever expected to get the most perfect ambiance, or if something goes a little bit wrong I understand they are just students who are learning. If I want the true salon/spa experience I pay 3x the price and head somewhere else.

I recently went for a facial and pedicure. The team were running a little bit late but it didn't matter too much - both my therapists apologised for the wait and I was made to feel very relaxed. The facial took place in a very large ballroom-esque style room, which was very grand. You are taken into an individual cubicle where the therapist (student) assesses your skin type and asks what you hope to get out of the treatment.
The treatment itself lasted just over an hour and was fabulous. It included a massage, both face and hands, a mask, cleansing and steaming just to name a few. She took great care in getting it right, and made me feel very calm and relaxed to the point where I almost fell asleep. The only downside was that you often heard students chatting away outside - a bit off putting but then again it wasn't overly annoying and didn't continue for the whole treatment.

Afterwards I went for a pedicure. I arrived to see the therapist had lined up all the products ready to use and the foot spa was ready for me to sink my feet into. Although she was a bit nervous and didn't chat to me much during the actual treatment, it was wonderful. I had the thermal booties and my feet were duely cleansed, filed and massaged before a gorgeous coat of red varnish was applied. My therapist was extremely knowledgable - I quizzed her on a variety of things regarding the pedicure and she seemed to know a lot about the subject. Whenever she moved onto another part of the pedicure she explained why she was doing it and how I could maintain the quality at home. The only negative - and I do stress it's only a minor negative - is that the students are timed, so they often feel under pressure. By the end of the hour, my poor therapist was rushing a bit and It made me feel a bit nervous - i'd have preferred if they didn't have to work so hard to the time set, as she'd done a great job up until the last few minutes. But that aside, my toes do look lovely.

So in summary, yes it can feel a bit like a clinical ward, I have had all sorts of treatments here over the past year and a half including massages, facials, hair extraction and manicures and some have been a bit hit - or - miss but in all I highly recommend it and have told most of my friends to go there.

Above all I recommend the facials -really really fantastic. I will definitely be going back!

I've been to the academy a few times but have not been back since discovering the wealth of deals available on Wahanda which tend to be better value.
I have only had a massage once there and the girl was very pleasant but she strugged keeping an even pressure. She did ask me through out if te pressure was ok and I gave her feedback but it didn't make much of a difference.
I had a better experience with the facial but the extraction eleemtn was ommited and when I asked her abut it she said it was not included. However, it is mentioned as included in the treatment desciption but she didn't even check.
The manicures I have had have always been fine so I have no complaints there just a comment on how bsy they usuaully are.

The girls are usually very frendly and I understand that they are learning but fr amateur treatments the quality is also often amateur and you might prefre picking up a Wahanda deal instead.

In response to the comment by firstpref25 you fail to mention that this is a college training salon and that all of the therapists that work in the salon are all student therapists working towards an industry recognised qualification, which is why you would have only paid a very discounted rate for your manicure and pedicure. The therapists are all being assessed by tutors to ensure that they meet the standard requirements and that they are able to carry out the treatments, so of course she would have been nervous. Having to deal with customers who are comparing student treatments to LCBT is a well recognised beauty college in the industry. I have visited the LCBT salon and realised that I had to patient as some this students are only just starting out in this industry and are new to carry out treatments. So I guess you won't be going back!!

Appt started 40 mins late. Mani good Pedi awful. Pedicurist very nervous and shaky when handling instruments, rushed through pedi - paraffin wax left on for less than 5 mins, the massage was non existent! Person assessing her asked if I was satisfied with treatment then asked the girl to write out my comments on the form! The person then said that reception had messed up and put Std Mani-Pedi on the sheet (instead of luxury). Then alleged that I had got the Paraffin Wax as a freebie so what was the problem! I said I had booked and paid IN Advance for a Luxury Mani-Pedi and that she should check the price on the receipt. She wanted my feedback and I gave it to her. That was all. She finally apologized. Her attitude left a lot to be desired. I would rather wait 2 months to get a Pedicure in a salon where they treat you well, but I guess you get what you pay for!
