part of Lisa Shepherd
Generally the place was good; the treatment itself was good in that it looked great immediately afterwards. However, though I apprecaite it is not permanent, I felt that it didnt last particularly long at all after washing my hair - my hair is really think though so i don't know if this was the reason.
Also re: value for money, since i bought this deal i have seen many more deals offering the same treatment at a lower price.

I visited Lisa Shepherd London salon for the first time after having bought a 50% off voucher from Wahanda. I was slightly worried whether how would the whole experience and treatment turn out because I was on a deal - I really shouldn't have worried. I had a full head highlights done and I am extremely pleased with the result, which is the most important thing. I was slightly annoyed that they charged an extra £10 for drying hair when on a deal, but that was overall a minor issue. The service was prompt. efficient and friendly enough without being overbearing. Jamie who did my hair was quick and competent. The salon itself is comfortable with free hot and cold drinks, as well as ipads and laptops for customer use. Personally I would have preferred a slightly warmer decor and more comfortable seating in the waiting areas, but it's the hairdressing skills that really matter! I also got a discount voucher for my next appointment, so thumbs up!

Very disappointed with the entire experience. Booked a color, treatment and cut via Groupon. After a 3.5 hour session, spent mostly waiting around, I left with a below average cut and was given a half-hearted apology. Also the fact that you have to do a skin test 48 h before your color (as safe as it sounds) it's a hassle one could do without.
Am just wondering whether Lisa Shepherd know what's going on - I know she is running a business but accepting Groupon offers, only to treat people like 2nd class citizens cannot be good for business. I hope she is oblivious to her staff behavior - though I guess it's her job to know and train them properly.
My advice - don't bother with or without Groupon/Wahanda, spend your money somewhere else where you'll be treated with respect.

thanks for letting the public know.!! I will definately not be spending my money there, even though its local. I'd rather spend twice the amount than be treated like I owe them something, voucher or not.
I bought a voucher for a Brazilian Blow Dry as a birthday treat for my daughter so this review is her experience and not mine. She was told at the salon that she needed to use a special shampoo that was 'sulphate free' after treatment (she didn't know this before) and that if she didn't then they couldn't 'guarantee' the treatment. So not wanting to waste the process she decided that she would buy the right shampoo from them before she left. At the end she asked about the shampoo, was shown a couple of the brands they stock but they couldn't sell her the right shampoo as they didn't have any in stock. She searched online for advice re shampoo to buy and many sites said the shampoo had to be 'salt free'. Rather confusing. Not helped by the fact most shampoos have 'Sodium Laureth Sulphate' as a major ingredient. Even some organic shampoos have sodium/salt in them so she found a sulphate free shampoo with no added salt as her best bet. Treatment is supposed to be formaldehyde free but there were times the fumes were pretty strong and made her eyes water. A month later her hair is straighter then it was before but she still has to iron it smooth.
Although the facilities were good, she found the atmosphere a bit snooty, like having a discount voucher was not quite as good as being a 'proper' customer' and she says she probably wouldn't go out of her way to go back again. She still thanked me though:) Tip: remember to get yourself the right shampoo beforehand. Hope that helps.

I have read bad reviews and good reviews on this hair salon, so I was a bit apprehensive before my visit.
However I didn't need to be as the whole experince was excelent. The place itself was so very nice and being a Tuesday was not that busy.
I guess you have to be lucky with you therapist, mine was very nice and looked like she knew what she was doing. I think I will be back for other threatments.

Please see my earlier review re booking this in.
Finally managed to book this in after complaining to the Manager about being booked in on Easter Sunday.
Turned up on Sunday and felt like a lower class citizen, there were 2 guys and a girl working and the guy I spoke to was very dismissive and I never got an apology from anyone there about what happened, even when I phoned up to complain no one said sorry they just said they didn't knwo why it happened.
Towards the end of the treatment the salon was closing and very quiet and I could hear the two guys whispering about me and laughing - very indiscreetly. The girl who actually did the treatement was very nice. When I left the other guys there (whether a manager or not I'm not sure) were no where to be seen and I was not offered the compensatory shampoo I was promised for being messed around.
All in all felt like just another west end salon with their heads up their a**.

Purchased the deal on Wahanda and oh my, what a venue and such great staff... you would never feel that you came in with a voucher.. almost made you fee like you paid top quid for it.
It's got the most usual set-up with ipad's lying around, self service area and fruit...
I would MOST definitely recommend this place.

I have nothing but good things to say about Lisa Shepherd after my appointment. I went in for a half head of highlights and cut but my hair is quite damaged on the top and Reena my colour stylist said that highlighting would not only damage my hair further but also look odd due to the short sections I have. Her advice was thorough and sincere and something that I was very grateful for. Instead she gave me a deep conditioning treatment and my cut as arranged.
Tom cut my hair and gave more great advice regarding how to look after it, how to style it and how to protect it while I’m on holiday in a few weeks time. I have a real complex about my hair and normally hate everything about it but I felt like, for the first time in ages I have the right advice to be able to get my hair back in good condition and learn to love it again!

I bought the Groupon deal for the half-head highlights, conditioning treatment plus cut and blow dry. I was directed by the company to book online via SurveyMonkey but nobody ever came back to me so I had to call for an appointment. Not very impressive. Had to wait a week and a half for appointment but this was lucky due to my being a teacher on the Easter break and thus I could come in during the day.
I arrived at the salon about 5 mins early and was directed to the waiting area. This is definitely the best bit about this salon, having a variety of self-service drinks available, magazines, newspapers and two laptops for internet use. I have to say the salon did feel cramped to me, however, with chairs and sinks squeezed in. It was also quite a mess, with a large island in the middle stewn with half-empty hair dye tubes etc. I really don't like mess as it makes me think the staff don't really care etc.
I was asked to come over for the brief consultation before my highlights were done. I had a guy possibly called Luke or Lee do my highlights, I can't quite remember. I explained that I wanted the colour to look natural etc but not brassy and explained that I mainly needed re-growth doing etc. The colourist did a resonable job but I felt he was quite stingy with the foils he put in (possibly as I had booked a cheaper Groupon deal). My colour looks natural but you can see roots that should have been dealt with etc. I only really noticed this when I got home.
After my highlights were ready a young girl was directed to wash my hair. She did a very average job, slopping the water over my ears quite a bit and only massaged my head for a few seconds. I had paid for a treatment and some for of conditioning was put on my head but was washed out almost straight away. With other treatments I have had I know they need to be left on for at least 10 mins so am pretty sure this was either not done properly or was just normal conditioner.
After washing, I was directed over to a chair and another stylist did my cut. I think it is not particularly great having 3 people attend to you in one appointment and much prefer the same person to cut and colour my hair. The stylist did an ok job but I felt it was quite a lazy cut, really only a trim with not much effort put in. The thing the really irritated me was that she did not use a brush to get the cut hair off me hair and face, thus I ended up with hair all over my clothes and a long hair stuck in my eye which I had to fish out. Not impressed as I haven't experienced this kind of slopiness before. Once the stylist was finished she said she would get the colourist to look over the colour but he was too busy having his own hair done! Think this is quite poor and staff treatements should not take place while their clients are still there etc.
The entire highlights, cut and finish only took 1.5 hours, half the time it usually takes so I know they did a rushed job. For the price I paid it is just about acceptable but I would have been very unhappy had I paid the full whack. I would say this salon relies heavily on customers with vouchers but then treats people just like a number and aims to get them in and out as quickly as possible. I certainly have had much better service elsewhere using vouchers, often for less money too. Due to this experience, I would not personally return to this salon.

I haven't even managed to get here yet after having my brazillian blow dry booked twice!
I turned up for my appointment last month 5 mins late due to stuck in traffic to be told I was too late to have my treatment... so has to re book it for no less than another month's time as they had no slots the rest of March and go on the long journey back home.
I turned up for my appointment today (Easter Sunday which I did find odd they were open but was given sun 8th April) waited half an hour and no one was at the salon. Needless to say back on the hour train journey again...
This salon needs a new receptionist and better customer service.
