Fond memories of North Carolina are summers wading in creek beds with Grandpa and Grandma in Spencer, where tomatoes were harvested in heaps and canned. Ruth Bell Young had a beauty regime that included old fashioned witch hazel and a very emollient night cream to address every ailment. Here a seed was planted within her grandson to want to be a therapist and to have a life focused on natural health.
Since 2001, Greg Cartwright has strived to be an excellent practitioner in the healing arts with a passion for improving clients well being. Creating trusting relationships with clients, Greg offers his experience, strength, and wisdom. With various styles of massage techniques, utilizing his Thai Massage education in Chiang Mai, Thailand to Esalen Massage in Big Sur, CA, Greg approaches massage comprehensively, adapting his core education from The Swedish Institute in NYC, NY.
Greg was groundbreaking to the spa industry in NYC, introducing the technique of hair removal called sugaring; (Greg makes his own sugar paste). He uses this technique to achieve effective and gentle hair removal that outperforms traditional waxing. His casework in epilation has given him an understanding of how to treat the skin from head to toe.
Greg has a comprehensive understanding of skincare product technology. He is currently appearing monthly at Neiman Marcus in Southpark, Charlotte, working exclusive engagements for Giorgio Armani and Chantecaille Skincare. His private practice uses Image Skincare chemical peels in treatment and Anew Clinical for client home-care follow through.
Beauty and healthy living start from the inside. Greg's own high nutrition diet and his culinary education, from the California Culinary Academy, provide a foundation in health, well-being and nutrition to his clients and the encouragement for them to harvest positive change.
He fondly remembers many special clients from NYC. One in particular Greg has touched, and has been touched by is Rue McClanahan from “The Golden Girls.” His unique skill set and professionalism, gave him the chance to be a personal home care therapist to Rue during her final year and improved her quality of life through her transition.
After 27 years, Greg Cartwright has now returned to his roots of old summer memories to begin a new life in North Carolina sharing his knowledge and intuitions from his life away from here.
