Irina's Beauty Salon at Waldorf Hilton 19 reviews

Write A ReviewMy appointment didn't get off to a good start with the receptionist (actually part of the hotel gym staff) telling me Irina wasn't in that day! Irina was actually there, but communication failed and I was left waiting around for 15 minutes (told that Irina was running late) - only to be told off for arriving late by Irina when she found me! That's something they really need to sort out - communication between the reception/gym and the beauty area. I was told I would have to miss out on part of my treatment because of the delay, and I wasn't happy about that, having arrived early and done all that I could - in the end Irina managed to fit everything in by doing a shorter facial than advertised. The facial was ok, pretty average - but I think we both ended up rather stressed that afternoon! The brow shape was very swift, and the head massage a bit rough and rushed too. I also used the pool, which was small, but reasonable enough.

Ok, went here as I had a deal, two for one including facial, indian head massage and Spa (pool etc). The starting point is that when you arrive the spa is billed as LA Fitness which is confusing. The small slightly grotty treatment room for two people is not great. The dermalogica facial was good and well worth the cost alone. The therapists were good. The rest was downhill, the spa was a sweaty LA Gym with a grotty changing room with badly chipped tiles on the floor which were dangerous. The pool was smaller than expected from the photos, nowhere to lounge /relax and very dark and taken over by bully boy city types who forced my friends out of the water - so I opted not to use it. So upshot, is the deal was good just for the facial but don't try to make a day of it as it is not that type of spa! The treatment should have been four stars and the environment 1 star so came out as a 3 star!

The therapy room was small but comfortable, there were two therapists working to provide me with the treatments. The nearby gym provided the facilities for the swim, which were clean. I had the pool to myself for most of the swim.

I had to change my appt a couple of times and Irina was great at moving it. Mumtaz, my therapist, was lovely, very informative and a very good therapist. The facial was really good and I left with my skin feeling refreshed.

Both therapists were very friendly and professional. Both the Indian head massage and the facial were extremely relaxing, and my skin looked significantly better afterwards. The eyebrow tint was also really good. I would definitely recommend Irina's. Great value.

I cannot believe that the HILTON allow this establishment to trade from the same address as them. Don't be fooled by believing that just because they advertise as being in the Hilton that it is the same quality. This salon is a ROOM in the BASEMENT of the Hilton and is actually nothing to do with them. I cant even bring myself to write this review in full text - a list is quicker!
I would seriously doubt the positive reviews on here - I suspect they have been put on here by the salon owner because the service we received was seriously flawed.
1) Room is tiny and we were given no warning of the 'intimate' nature of sharing it. I luckily don't mind getting undressed in front of my cousin.
2) Music was so frantic it made me want to break dance.
3) The 'Indian Head Massage' was nothing more than a standard head massage and not a great one. Choppy rather than fluid movements.
4)Although we were not asked which facial we wanted, I advised the therapist that I had tried several of the Dermalogica products and I told her which ones I'd had a bad reaction to. At the end of the treatment, she showed me what she'd used and guess what? they were the ones I had warned against!
5) Every time I was close to relaxing one of the therapists would turn on the high pressure tap behind me, or slam a cupboard door, rustle into some packaging to get something out, allow droplets of cold water drip of her hand onto my face - overall not relaxation! over £100 worth of treatments? I think not!
6) I was cold - only the very first part of the treatment was applied to the upper chest yet it was left uncovered for the rest of the hour.
7) When offered a drink I was presented with tap water in a mug that has clearly been rinsed rather than washed with suds.
8) The rest of the facilities were appalling. Dirty, smelly, Grimy, Literally tiles missing from every surface.
Peeling paint. Vile. When we then went to look at the Hilton itself it was like a totally different world and the receptionist there eager to stress that the facilities downstairs were nothing to do with the Hilton itself.
So in short I paid £71 for this and as the service was like that of a cheap indoor market type salon I would have priced it more at £15 purely based on the fact that she used genuine Dermalogica products. Nothing else was satisfactory.
When I notified her of our displeasure she gave no indication that what we experienced was a one off so beware.

A friend and I arrived for a relaxing head massage, facial, eyebrow shape plus use of swimming pool and steam room. Irina and her colleague were very welcoming and attentive therapists, the treatments were great and we would highly recommend to anyone. The only criticism was the room was quite small and the sound of the air conditioning unit cutting in and out was a bit distracting at times - but all in all a good experience, and great value for money.
