I have been looking for a new hairdresser in Balham since I moved here and thought i would take the plunge with Independent Mind Body Soul as an award winning salon. I have curly hair so i went with a senior stylist to ensure that i got a good cut. I was really happy with the experience as it was a pleasant atmosphere, friendly receptionist, nice coffee. After the cut my hair looked fab. Straight. I haven't been able to wear it any other way as it's so boxy! I would recommend people with straight hair go to this salon, but if you've got curly hair, keep looking!

I managed to book in on a last minute booking after walking past the salon which is on the main high road in Balham. I had 2 different therapists for my french manicure and my french pedicure. Both were performed in a treatment room which was nice as it was relaxing and private. I think it worked better for the pedicure as I was able to lie down on the bed during the treatment. The rooms are quite cosy with low lit lighting which was relaxing. After both treatments I was led out to the relaxation room which was a nice surprise for a small high street salon to have invested in. Overall I was happy with the treatment - my pedicure was lovely and the French polish has lasted well. My manicure unfortunately started chipping within 2 days so was less satisfactory based on the price of the treatments. Would go back for a pedicure.

8 weeks after my baby was born I decided to book in for a facial. I had managed lots of juggling to get an evening appointment but when I turned up they had no record of this.The receptionist told me they had nothing free and I would have to rebook another day. When I wrote to complain of this I never received a response - so much for customer car

I used to go here alot but my regular hairdresser left and I just went to the next one up.
Distaster. My hair was over texturised and was a complete mess, the salon admited it but siad they had no other stylists available to rectify it as a lot were leaving. I ended up having to go and get it fixed by a great salon on the kings rd but I lost a lot of length.

The waxing was ok.
