On a Friday morning, a last minute change of plans for the evening meant I was in desperate need of a good blow dry.

I found the voucher for Hush Hair on Wahanda, already knowing they boasted a blow dry service, and I had been meaning to try this for a while. I was lucky to get an appointment for that lunchtime.

Working in Birmingham city centre for the past few years means I have tried many of the local salons. None quite have the chic atmosphere that Hush have from the moment you step through the door.

The Salon felt very plush and the staff who greeted me were extremely friendly. Other local salons are rushed, impersonal, and the assistants are unprofessional. However I have nothing negative to say about any of the staff I saw that day.

I was offered a drink soon after the assistant taking my coat and showing me to a seat. As I was skipping lunch, and it was a drizzly day, I was quite impressed to receive a coffee-shop worthy mug of hot chocolate (as opposed to poorly made tea/squash that I usually get).

I received a relaxing hair wash with a quick massage incorporated.

I then took my place with James, who was to give me my blow dry. He was very friendly and professional, and understanding of the fact I was on my lunch break.

As they had already won me over, I informed James I regularly get my hair coloured at a very local (expensive) salon, but would quite like to switch to having this work done from Hush instead.

James was very modest about the array of services Hush offer, and I liked that he was relaxed about discussing these rather than taking a pushy tone (as per the other salons!).

I left with an absolutely amazing big and bouncy curly blow dry. My hair is fairly thick and long, and I was pleased to be back at my desk within the hour. I actually received compliments on my hair from strangers on my walk back to the office, and later that evening on my hair colour because the blow dry really improved the condition and tone of my hair.

I was very impressed with the service and general ambience of this salon, and will be switching all my har services to Hush. Given that I have a lot of hair work done throughout the year, I am pleased to have found Hush and recommend it to anyone looking for amazing results, at a convenient location, with a friendly personalised service.

Just been to Hush hair and although my hair isn't bad, it is not what I asked for!! I wanted a golden brown colour with caramel highlights and a long bob. My hair is more like a dark red brown and the highlights underneath are so subtle, you can't even see them. The bob is not actually a bob as the stylist continued to layer it and it now has quite short layers, which I did not want! I have also been left with hair dye along my hairline and even though I had the 40% student discount, it still cost me £84!! This is especially annoying as I will have to pay to have it done somewhere else. Would not recommend!!

Ok was not really sure what to expect and must admit i bought it by mistake as I thought it was for a cut and blow dry not just a blow dry and also the voucher expiry date was too soon un like other offers I have previously bought from wahanda

I would definately go back to this salon, very friendly staff, good service, clean salon, I booked later for an eye brow tint and shape (very good)
I booked several times afterwards to go for a blow dry bar and head massage

I have used Hush's beauty area before which also was very impressive and satisying. I am very satisfied and impressed with the level of customer service given in the hair salon too. Hot choc was a bonus! Hairdresser was helpful when reccommending hair style and overall expereince was enjoyable.

Can not fault the haircut or the stylist Gary - in fact both very nice! I came away from Hush Hair happy with my new hair style.

I visited Hush for a cut and finish at £41 (with a creative stylist) but was extremely disappointed with stylist gary. I didnt even have chance to finish my coffee because he had finished that quickly. I felt rather shocked and embarrassed because before I knew it he was offering to take off my overall and it took me by surprise. He never asked if I wanted layers or feathering etc. no real consultation, pictures or mags were suggested and when I suggested layers he said it wouldnt be suitable for my hair type and that was that, no open discussion was made on what result I was looking for. In full he trimmed only one side of my side fringe and then to finish off he just trimmed the ends of my hair at the back. He treated me for about 10-15 mins in total inc blowdry. I usually love visiting the hair salon because I feel special and pampered. The junior who shampooed was lovely tho and she showed an interest in chatting unlike Gary.

James/Hush.....friendly front of house, lovely hair washing a proper consultation and a real understanding of my hair/lifestyle and desires. I leave this salon feeling far more attractive then when i went in! James is a sharp cutter with creative flair I could go on but it would look far too gushy!

The experience was wonderful - a lovely salon, excellent and competent staff, and one of the best massages I've had in a long time!
I would definitely recommend Hush Hair and Beauty to anyone!
