I have mixed views on headmasters bromley - ! have been twice. My first therapist, Maxine, was amazing! She gave me the best haircut I've ever had. She really listened to what i wanted, and i walked away with gorgeous, shiny, swingy hair. The only down-side was the pressure placed on you to buy the salon products. It was recommended that I buy two of the products used on my hair - the cost of the products almost matched the price of the haircut - I declined, but definitely felt awkward saying no.

My second visit was a disaster - she spent such a short time cutting my hair. And you could tell by the end result, the cut looked shabby, and grew out badly. I specifically told her I wanted my hair in tip-top condition, but walked away with almost as many split-ends as I walked in with - such a let down. Wish I could remember the stylists name, but all I remember is that she was young (early/mid 20's) and did NOT have a good do herself (should've been the first clue), and chatted about her long-term boyfriend and her trouble with ingrown-hairs....all of which would be fine - if she'd have given me decent hair-cut.

WOULD go back, but only if I could have Maxine - will pysch myself up beforehand this time to JUST SAY NO to all the add-on purchases that i just don't need. Hope you found this helpful.

I went to Headmasters salon in Bromley to have a full head of highlights and a cut. I was enticed in by the £90 deal for all the above on a Monday only - I should've known better, I'd been there once before and had a terrible colour that had to be corrected on another occassion but I put it down to bad luck and what with these being credit crunching times I decided to give it another go. I took in a whole heap of magazine tears to show the stylist EXACTLY the colour I wanted. It was basically the colour I already was but with a warmer tone run through the underneath of my hair. (I am, sorry, was, a lovely bright golden creamy blonde, very sienna miller ).I made it very clear what I wanted and the colourist explained that this was 'no problem' and that she would run two colours through my hair and then baliage the bits in between to 'warm it up'. I have been colouring my hair for around 15 years and know it is tricky to achieve the right shade of blonde, but she reassured me. 'Leave it to us,' she said, 'we'll look after you.'
An hour later I was in floods of tears. As soon as she took the towel off my head i knew straight away that she had made me too dark. When she started to dry it off, I almost started hyperventilating; my hair had gone from a lovely creamy gold vibrant blonde to a very dull ash grey/brown-y colour. Ten years younger? I looked ten years older! I was heartbroken. I spoke to a manger who tried, very embarassingly, to convince me that the colour they had made me was the same colour as in the pictures I had brought with me!! (which would have been funny had it not been so awful) but in the end he had no choice but to concede that it was in fact nothing like it. I cried some more (I just couldn't help it). I was told to come back the next day (they could not do anything there and then as they had other clients to see to - so I wasn't a client any more, even though they had stuffed my hair up royally!). I duly went back the next day and saw their colour expert (I thought they were all experts!) and was told there wasn't much they could do as my hair was in 'such bad' condition (though they mentioned none of this when they initially coloured my hair. She did however do half a head of highlights to bring back some of the blonde. She was very noisy about the fact that they wouldn't charge me for the full head they did the day before ( I should damn well hope not, I sobbed all the way home and the colour was the worse colour I've had in 15 years!) and that she wouldn't charge me for the cut. They took half an inch off the ends of my hair, which took all of five minutes if that. Although it is slightly better than before, my hair is still not right; the colour is dull and the top half of my hair looks different to the bottom half. In short, it's a total disaster.
I called Headmaster's bromley again this morning to talk to them about it, and explain that although they tried to correct it yesterday, it is still not a colour I am happy with and is uneven. The colour manager was very defensive and her attitude frankly pretty poor. I found myself apologising to HER for being a pain about it but that I was still really unhappy with the colour. Reluctantly she asked me to come in again, though she was so unfriendly and dismissive that I don't think I will go. I will have to go somewhere else and see if they can rescue my poor hair and return it to it's former glory.
My advice to anyone out there thinking of using Headmasters Bromley: Don't be sucked in by the cheap deals. Clearly, you pay for what you get. In my case, the worst colour of my entire life.
