I had a voucher for 3 Powerplate sessions to see if they'd be appropriate for me to do over a couple of months before my wedding next year. I was very very impressed. I've tried a couple of other companies around London that offer Powerplate and GoodVibes was by far the best.

I liked the relaxed feel of the place, the friendly and knowledgeable receptionist, the fantastic music (they had the Grease soundtrack playing on my first class!) and the very good instructors. I had 3 different instructors over the 3 sessions and all were excellent with their own different ways of teaching. I really noticed the difference in my body after just 3 sessions - everything felt a bit more toned, my belly was less wobbly and even my fiancé commented that I'm looking better for some reason (and he never says things like that).

I decided after the 3 sessions that 2 months before my wedding I'm going to do their Bikini Bootcamp which looks expensive but certainly looks the best way to drop a dress size in advance of the big day. I can't afford to do more than that - the downside to GoodVibes being amazing is that they're also quite expensive. There was a girl in my classes who had done the bikini bootcamp ahead of her wedding last year and she said she couldn't recommend it enough and afterwards was the skinniest she'd ever been and has since kept up the classes. I'm in.

I didn't really know what to expect but the trainer explained everything clearly and eased us in. It was certainly an interesting experience and definately worth the £10 deal. Would like to go more regularly if it were slightly cheaper.

Attended my second power plate class at the Good Vibes studio in Liverpool Street, after previously having a free introductory class in the Covent Garden studio. It was the same instructor as before, and the workout was just as intense.
There are 5 plates in the studio but if you attend during off-peak hours you’re more likely to get a more personal focus.
What is great about this studio is that it is conveniently located for those that work in the city – in and out by just being away from your desk for 40 minutes. You do get warm, but are less likely to break out into a sweat (so no need to re-do make up or wash and blow dry hair). I also found it much brighter than the Covent Garden studio, due to the natural light allowed in through the large windows. Also, the staff are happy, smiley and friendly.

I have started noticing some changes to my body after just 2 sessions and can’t wait for my next session!

In the lead up to my wedding I got sort of obsessed with Good Vibes. It was the only sort of training I could keep to with a really busy schedule and I popped out on my lunch break for the 25 minute sessions 3 times a week. Working out at Good Vibes is a lovely lovely experience - the staff is great and really make an effort to coach you on your power plate sessions and make sure you are progressing and getting better. They are also incredibly friendly, and the entire place has a happy vibe with good music and mint tea etc. BTW the Plate sessions are actually very challenging and (to me) fun - you sweat and really feel it afterwards. Fortunately GW has a shower! Oh, and also the classes are small - only 5 people per class and you need to make sure to book in in advance for busy slots like lunchtimes and post-work.

OK now here's the down side - it's really expensive (£15-£20 per 25 minute class), and in order to get the best out of it you need to go three times a week. And do some cardio when you're not on the plate too. This worked for me when I had the wedding to think about, but post-honeymoon I couldn't really justify it, so it was back to the normal gym. Which just wasn't anywhere near as good or time-efficient.

So I would say if you are at a point in your life when you really need to shape up fast - go for it. Turn some money into time not spent in the sweaty, smelly gym, and instead enjoy hanging out on the plate with the friendly gang at Good Vibes. Man, I miss it!
