Write A ReviewTreatment rooms inside LA Fitness, great central loaction and lovely staff who did a good job on my pedicure and bikini wax. It's not a spa but it is excellent value beauty treatments.
I went to the essential spa for a hot stone back massage and a decleor facial treatment. The massage was absolutely bliss and very relaxing! It really helped ease the the tension and stress out. I was given a thorough consultation and was recommended some face products which would be beneficial to my skin by the therapist. i have already booked another visit back, eagerly waiting! :)

Had shellac polish put on and it was not a manicure. Just a shape and colour application. The therapist was nice, but the polish itself didn't last even a week, when it is suppose to last up to 2. A bit disappointment. Not sure if it was because of the way it was applied, or the product it self.

Hi my name is Laura I am a staff member here.
I have read your review and am a little confused as we don't do shallac manicures and pedicures.
Could I ask you for some more information regarding your treatment as we hate for our customers to go away upset or disappointed.

My treatment at Essential Spa was devine!
I had a Hot Stone Massage & 30 mins Decleor Energy Express Facial. The massage was very good - it was my first time having the hot stones & it was great for making me more relaxed & helped to ease the tension in the knots in my back, Caroline was fantastic - she talked me through the different treatments of the facial & explained things well. She was always checking I was happy, comfortable & relaxed- which I was!! .. Caroline is very friendly, you can tell she enjoys her job, takes great pride in it & making sure I was given proffessional & impeccable treatements, which I was!
I would highly recommend Essential Spa.

The initial appointment booking was unsatisfactory as there seemed to be some sort of confusion on the therapist's part and I turned up to find that the appointment had not been booked at all.
Decided to try again - the therapist was copetent - treatments were good and did actually yield results. However, the actual venue is awkwardly located i.e. the treatment rooms are just next to the changing rooms in the leisure centre and there is a general atmosphere of hustle and bustle-not quite what one wants when waiting to indulge in a pampering session.

Yes I totally agree, the treatments were great but the positioning of the rooms were not good at all.

My friend and I purchased "groupon" vouchers at £45 each instead of £155 for a day here including treatments. The treatments were very good , the therapists very friendly and professional, but there was nowhere to sit and relax afterwards ,just two plastic sunbeds by the gym pool.
All in all, the package in my view was only worth £45, i would have been really upset if i had paid £155 for it.

The Essential Spa is situated in the Virgin Active premises. I have had many Decleor treatments in spa 's all over the country. The venue is certainly not what I have come to expect from Decleor. I attended for a hot stone massage, less than half way through my treatment there was a lot of activity outside the treatment room, banging, rolling and laughing. The therapist carried on for a while but probably sensing that the treatment was not getting the desired effect when outside the room to ask the people to stop until after the treatment, this they did not do. The noise carried out throughout the treatment, five minutes before the end of the treatment the fire alarm sounded three times in quick succession, again the therapist went to find out what the problem was as a test was not scheduled, not was there a fire. After my session I complained to the therapist who was very apologetic saying that the gym had weights delivered and they were moving them into place. I made a complaint to the receptionist in Virgin active but my complaint fell on deaf ears! I have no complaint with my therapist of the treatment she tried to give - Decleor service through and through.

I visited Essential Spa with my friend as a treat for her birthday. The whole experience was excellent!
I was impressed by Caroline's professional approach to our treatments. We had to fill in detailed health questionnaire and when I declared that I had had chemotherapy, Caroline changed my treatment to a back massage and facial rather than a body wrap.
The treatment I received with Caroline was one of the best treatments I have ever had, and I have visited many spas all over the world. Right from the start, I felt that I was in very experienced hands. Both the massage and the facial were outstanding. Caroline has a delightful personality and has had spa and salon experience in America as well as other countries. In addition to her experience in salon therapies she also has excellent customer skills and, during our visit, the customer service was excellent. She even recommended a lovely Italian restaurant for lunch.
The location of the salon on King Street was perfect for us as we had travelled by train and the free City Bus from Piccadilly Station stopped right outside the salon!
My friend thoroughly enjoyed her treatment and lunch, also.
We shall both definitely be returning here and I have no hesitation in recommending Essential Spa to anyone who is looking for a professional and relaxing spa experience.

I had never had a 'proper' massage prior to my visit to Essential Spa. I found Caroline to be both friendly and professional, not only giving me a superb experience but also educating me in the benefits of continued massage therapy, health and fitness. Needless to say I have already booked in my next treatment for the end of this month. Oliver Wright - BDM - Manchester United
