Very sorry to hear that Dove Spa City is going to be closing in May 2010 (apparently due to lease issues) - I've always found it to be a convenient place with great staff. The ladies on reception were friendly when I arrived, and my therapist knew her stuff and was very thorough with my treatment. Very happy with the results and sad to see the end of this salon.
I bought a facial, massage and nail paint package as a pick-me-up for myself. Firstly, I found the spa impossible to find, I was wandering around for over half an hour looking for it, despite being armed with a map. I rang the Spa, and after still not finding it, I stumbled upon Gravel Lane by accident- just when I was about to give up and go home. I arrived 5 to 10 mins late, and was told my treatments would be cut short, which was why I needed to have rang them- but I did ring them?? The receptionist was also the therapist, I quickly filled in the form. By the time I had done the form, changed and was ready for the treatments it was 15 mins past my appointment time- was I really that late? The massage was very intense- as I like it, she did check the pressure. I enjoyed the facial as well, but I never got my nails painted. Treatments very good, facilities ok- have seen better, no gym or spa attached, seemed a bit short staffed, therapist pleasant, but location impossible- it was not unusual to get lost from what I was told, and the necessity to ring them if you were was confusing, I did ring and still had tretment cut short. I did enjoy it, but because of getting there late, (despite allowing loads of time) I missed out, and left the spa still feeling needy and wanting to book something else- which is why I am on here looking for another pamper package!

I went to Dove Spa City for a body polish and St Tropez spray tan, and was very impressed with the results. The therapist was really friendly and professional and explained what was going to be done. The facilities were good, and really happy with the results, which still look great over a week later!

Hi there, do you always have an exfoliation treatment before a spray tan? Just wondering whether you think this helps the tan to last longer?

I find that the exfoliation definitely makes for a more even tan - not sure whether it lasts longer (possibly slightly longer) but I think the best way to maintain your fake tan is to keep the skin in top condition normally.
I find that the colour is usually quite strong for the first week then by the end of the second week it's starting to fade slightly but having exfoliated thoroughly beforehand it doesn't go streaky...

Another lovely treatment from the ladies at Dove Spa City - I booked the "Pamper for Less" deal through Wahanda, which gave me a choice of options, and I went for the body exfoliation and spray tan. The exfoliation was great - not too harsh, but really left my skin feeling great. After a quick shower and dry, the spray tan was applied. Really happy with the even, well-toned application, and couldn't be happier overall. Definitely recommended as a pick-me-up for the winter months!

Just one comment, the slowest therapist I have ever seen, doesn't know how to anticipate the workload prior to time allocated. Procedure that would normally take 15 minutes to be done have not even been finished in 25 min, with the excuse that other customers are waiting. Judging by my experience I feel bad for them already. Highly not satisfied and defiantly will not recommend Dove Spa City salon for this type of treatment, although price wise they seem to be relatively cheap...... now I have the answer why.

That's refreshing, reading your review. I wasn't that impressed either, and reading other very positive reviews I thought, am I missing something? I got penalised for being 5 to 10 mins late- no more, maybe I was too nice and apologetic about it, I wouldn't be again. Think they generally got some organisation/ time planning issues.

Another lovely treatment from the ladies at Dove Spa City - always professional, always friendly and excellent at explaining how the treatment would be done.
I was running slightly late for my appointment, but once I arrived and was settled in the treatment room I was totally at ease due to the nice atmosphere - relaxing music and soft lighting were just right.
The body exfoliation scrub smelled very refreshing and was great for my skin. Thanks ladies!

Oh dear, I really did get the short straw! I was late- 5 to 10 mins, cos I got lost, was told straight away that my treatment would be cut short, slightly frosty at first, took me a while to relax tho I was nothing but apologetic. Maybe, I got them on a bad day. I've actually booked this spa again- cos I'm mad! No, it's cos of reviews like yours, and it was very good, the therapist very nice- after the initial greeting- but that did kinda stay with me, I wont be late next time, cos I know where it is now!

Actually I think I'll try a different Dove Spa for the voucher I've bought, I don't want to go back to City.

Went for a spray tan at Dove Spa City, and I have to say that I could not be more impressed with the spa, the staff and the results.
Tucked away near Liverpool Street station/Petticoat Lane markets, it's not somewhere that I would have normally found, but I am so pleased that I did.
The staff are very friendly and professional and given that I wasn't quite sure about getting a spray tan (visions of the episode of "Friends" where Ross tried it were running through my head) they really put me at ease.
The result was fantastic, as they paid great attention to detail in getting it very even, and I had so many compliments from friends and colleagues that I'm definitely hooked and have been back a couple of times. Thanks to the staff at Dove Spa!

I recently went to Dove Spa City for a Body Enlighten Detox treatment. Dove Spa City is not exactly the easiest place to get an appointment nor was it easy to find; I got a little lost on the way and I was slightly late to my appointment but once I got there I was able to relax.
I was given a warm welcome by the ladies and offered a drink. I filled in a quick form and was immediately whisked away downstairs for my treatment. My therapist Jodie explained what the treatment included and gave me a few options on which flavoured products I wanted.
The treatment consisted of a full body exfoliation using a cool mint scrub which was washed off straight away in the showers they have. It was then followed by a body wrap using a type of oil and gel. I was kept in the wrap for about 15minutes – I did feel slightly cold but I was warned of this. Whilst I was waiting I was treated to a relaxing mini facial. After the wrap was complete I washed in the shower, dried off and was given a final moisturising coat from top to toe. It left my skin feeling softer and lighter.
I was instructed to drink plenty of water all day and then I was left to get ready in my own time. The treatment was definitely one I would have again – It left me feeling really refreshed. The ambience of the treatment room was spot-on; dim lights and relaxing music, however it could have been a little warmer. My therapist Jodie was good; she kept me well informed about what she was doing next and always kept a smile on her face.

Hi, have just posted a review talking about getting lost finding Dove Spa City, and arriving slightly late- I notiice you did too. I am extra miffed now, as I wasnt treated the way you were, I was told straight away that my treatments would be cut short, no drink offered, just one lady on reception who was the therapist, and initially was slightly frosty- though I was nothing but polite and friendly/ apologetic. Maybe I just got them on a bad day, but I don't think I'll be back.
