This was my first spa experience and it was everything I expected and more. The whole setting was so relaxing and peaceful. We went for an evening spa, which included a three course meal. We used the gym area before having a swim. There wasn't many people in when we went so the availability of the equipment was not an issue and it was nice to be able to swim without having to dodge other people. I wasn't too sure what to take, towels and toiletries ect, so was pleasantly surprised to find that everything was supplied.
The meal was amazing! There was a good choice of menu and the food tasted great. The staff were very helpful and informative and gave us a good of the place when we arrived. I would definitely recommend this venue and can't wait to go back again.

Stayed for my birthday after having a baby 8 weeks prior. Brilliant value for money, had excellent treatment from staff especially Duty Manager Maggie, she made our stay extra special by going that extra mile. Me and my husband had several treatments of which we were pleased, found the food excellent and we both throughly enjoyed our stay. I shall be taking my mum this month too.

I had visited this spa about 5 years ago and had a wonderful time.On my recommendation I took a group of 10 people and was bitterly disappointed! There was little ambience and I felt there was little to do. The swimming pool was freezing, so we did not spend as much time in there as we would have wanted. There were very few sunbeds around the pool area. to relax on and so ended up sitting in a "corridor "chatting and reading magazines. The changing areas were quite cold and not that clean. The meal was OK, but not brilliant. All in all it was very disappointing.

So it sounds like the spa is not as great as it was 5 years ago?

Hi Wendy-Shaw - you can see a pretty comprehensive list of health spas in the Midlands here:
East Midlands: http://www.wahanda.com/places/in-east-midlands-uk/
West Midlands: http://www.wahanda.com/places/in-west-midlands-uk-1/
Hope that helps!

Hi Wendy, tell Champneys Springs spa about your concerns and see what they can offer you, some people have had a great time.

I was disappointed when I visited Springs, theres very little to do if you don't want treatments, just your basic sauna and steam rooms and the food is pretty boring. Wendy for the same price as Springs you can go to Eden hall(elston nr newark) its amazing so much more to do and a 3 course dinner is included, Aqua Sana at Center Parcs is nice too although the food isn't that great.

Just come back from a visit, I thought it was excellent. Lots of classes to join in, nice grounds to walk and jog round, tennis, badminton and golf. The pool was excellent with plenty of loungers round the pool my only crib is that the sauna's and steam rooms are segregated so if you go with your hubby you can't enjoy this facility. The food was excellent other than the rice pudding due to a lack of sugar in the pudding. All in all though a very enjoyable visit and one that I hope to repeat soon.
