Carter and Bond is a unique barber and shop, offering luxury wet shaves and traditional gents hairdressing as well as an unequalled range of grooming and lifestyle products. A treasure trove of niche and imported miscellany for men including watches, books, prints, cuff-links & grooming requisites.
Carter and Bond's resident barber is in store on Wednesdays and Sundays, offering hot towel wet shaves, cut and washes, facials, Moroccan head massages and beard and moustache trims. Offering what we believe to be one of the best shaves in London, Mustafa uses only the finest products and our shop and surrounding area are somewhat more colourful than other barbers you might go to up town. This service is soon to be expanded through the week as demand is growing.
Carter and Bond is a unique barber and shop for men, located on Westbourne Park Road. Initially a specialist retailer of niche and upscale male grooming products and fragrances, in 2008 the offering was expanded to include a wide variety of other 'toys, curios and art', from cuff-links and watches to prints and books to retro tin toys and exquisite model cars and planes. Established in 2002 as an online shop, Carter and Bond's growth and success culminated in the launch of the Notting Hill shop in July 2008.
The shop feels part gentlemen’s emporium and part old world barber shop, an atmosphere created in no small part by the shop fittings which are all vintage cabinets, shelves and display cases. The result is a simple yet stylish environment in which to browse the ever changing, ever growing selection of grooming and lifestyle products. Brands include the latest cutting edge skincare ranges to century’s old fragrance, apothecary and barber shop brands.
The concept remains the same today as when we opened: to offer a very wide range of the finest products available; to constantly be on the lookout for new brands; to present our offering in a simple yet stylish website (and mail-order catalogue), and to back this all up with rapid order dispatch and attentive customer service.
We are proud to have played a part in bringing about greater awareness for quality male grooming products and following in the wake of businesses like ours, any journalist or editor worth his/her salt will long ago have written about the recent growth in the male grooming market. And every day yet more men begin to appreciate for themselves the benefits of upgrading from the mass-market toiletries to be found at the high street chemist.
Over the years we have achieved a number of firsts, most notably in spotting the potential offered by hitherto unnoticed brands. We were the first in our field in the UK to carry Baxter of California, Chill, D R Harris, d:fi, Dovo of Solingen, Cowshed, Elicina, Floris, Geo F Trumper, HeadBlade, Janina, Korres, Merkur, Musgo Real, Ole Henriksen, Osmotics, Pashana, Proraso and Truefitt & Hill. Where we tread first others usually follow and we know many of our customers appreciate the efforts we go to in being first to market with so many ranges.
