Burlingtons & New ID Bristol

I really like this salon, conveniently situated within Debenhams, Bristol. The staff could not be more welcoming and friendly and my hair was cut just how I like it! I also enjoyed a lovely cup of coffee and a glass of Bucks Fizz during my visit ... what more you ask for?? Highly recommended.

I was in a pretty turbulent relationship for about five years and every time we used to have an argument I used to try to solve the problem by getting drunk. As you can imagine this only made the problem way worse then one day last year a friend of mine suggested that instead of hitting the drink I hit the makeover and photoshoot salon, spend a day getting pampered and sending lots of money on photographs of me looking amazing. At first I thought she had gone mad but then one day I when I woke up with yet another hang over I thought I would try it and booked in with New ID. I went there feeling pretty sorry for myself but came out feeling like a million dollars. I loved the staff who made me feel fantastic and who, unbelievably, got me talking about my experiences and really helped, it was like a cross between going for a makeover and going to see an agony aunt. I felt like a new woman when I came out and I had a whole lease of new confidence that I had never had before. The next time we had a row, which was quite a lot time later as I spent a fortune and he never wanted me to do that again, I felt just as good if not better than the first time, as this time I knew I would be well looked after and knew exactly what to expect. After the third time at New ID I found more confidence than I had ever had before and knew I had to get out of the relationship. I did get out and that was six months ago. For the last six months I have not had a drink, I joined a gym, got in shape and started living my life again. Yesterday I had my last makeover to celebrate my new life and had the best pictures that have ever been taken of me and even though the first lost were great you can see what a change has gone on in my life. New ID did not just give me a new look but a new outlook on life that has totally changed how I look and how I feel and the value I have for myself. I know this is not a traditional review detailing what happens in the salon but I wanted to share with you my experience and how this experience changed my life so much for the better I would never have expected it.

If you asked me if I would go and have another makeover with New ID I would most certainly say yes, I would go there to get my makeup done again, I would go there to get my hair done again, I would go there to have more photographs taken and I will be going again. On top of that I would recommend them for any sort of special occasion make-up that you might need, like a wedding or a date, I understand they also do makeup lessons as well, I would be very interested in taking part in one of those and I think if you are looking for some portrait photos of yourself then this is certainly the place to go and get them done, I had such a good time there, it is definitely the best hair cut I think I have ever had and I felt like a princess the whole time I was there. I think the photos are reasonably priced, I think the makeovers are excellent value for money and I can not think of one thing that I would like to change or complain about, its just great all round and very very nice way to spend a few hours.

A good experience. The staff were friendly. I had a good haircut, that I am pleased with, and looks stylish! I am glad I purchased the Wahanda voucher. I will be visiting the salon and wahanda for more goodies again.

A lot of my friends have been and had a makeover and I have wanted one for a long as I can remember, I finally got to go because on my 18th birthday my parents gave me a voucher and five hundred pounds to spend on the pictures. had gone over and over in my head how the perfect makeover would work out and at New ID it went totally according to plan but more so it was even better than I had expected. I had no idea that you got a free print but that was great because I knew exactly how many pictures I wanted for my bedroom wall and not having to buy one of them gave me some extra money to spend on the incredible cosmetic range that they have. I have tried so many products over the years and they either last two seconds, are crazy expensive or even worse give me spots. My skin is very sensitive and prone to a break out with on the smallest of provocation so it was great to find a range of cosmetics that my skin loves, my bank account loves and I do not have to touch up every five minutes. Even if you do not want to go for a makeover I would highly recommend having a look at New ID cosmetics, you don’t have to go into the salon, you can get them online. Anyway back to the makeover, so it is all bucks fizz and great fun. The salon is a really happening place and sort of puts the hairs on the back of your neck up as soon as you get there, its great, and you really do feel like a professional model or something. I was a bit scared of going in front of the camera, I had never been in front of a professional photographer before let alone in a private shoot room but the guy that took my pictures was amazing and made me smile and I felt and looked great. It was just so hard to choose which of the incredible pictures I wanted, I would love to have had all of them but I got there in the end and now have a bedroom wall to be really proud of!

I went for a makeover when I finally decided after years of having really long hair to take the plunge and get it cut shorter. I had got to the point where I was never doing anything other than putting it up in a bun and it seemed to be a bit of a waste of time not to mention the amount of hair products you get through when you have hair down past your bottom line! I thought if I was going in for a penny I may as well go in for a pound and get a totally new look to go with my new hair style.
I arrived at around 9am and immediately had a consultation that put my mind at ease, I must admit I lost a bit of sleep wondering if having my locks chopped was really the right decision.
The girls were lovely and really understanding and we went through lots of pictures and books until I found a couple of styles that I was really happy with and then I was put into the capable hands of the stylist who helped me to pick from the three that I liked the most. I felt so confident because the stylist really took my lifestyle and the shape of my face into consideration before we decided on the style. I wish there were more stylists like this in the world!
I took a deep breath as the locks fell to the floor but I loved the end results and as much as I could not imagine having short hair after such long hair for so long and it certainly is a lot easier to style and to manage and I can do so much more with it than before when it was too long to French plat by myself because I couldn’t reach the end of it!
So very happy with my new hair style I had my make up done and it complimented my hair to perfection, I have never managed to achieve the smokey eyes look so it was great to have access to a professional who could show me and explain how to do it, and make it look so easy. I brought two eye colours because they are so easy to use, the double brush volumising mascara and the eye shadow quad compact. To get the eyes we applied the lightest colour to the brow bone and the mid tones to the moving part of the eyelids and then the darkest colours to define the lash line. Its so easy to do. I went for the Choca Mocha that was just over 20 pounds and well worth the money.
By the time I got to the photosession I was looking fabulous and feeling fabulous too. I loved the session and the pictures really illustrate how happy and confident I felt.
I opted to have them put on a disc rather than have the prints and frames and franky cant stop looking at them.
New ID is a well run organization with highly trained professionals and also offers some very good quality products and I would have no hesitation in using them again

I have nothing but respect for New ID and their makeover service. I loved having the two makeover s I have had with them and will certainly be looking forward to having another one some time soon as well. I was very surprised at how affordable the makeover package are, I would have thought it would cost a lot more than that when you are not under any obligation to buy the pictures. Then I thought that as the actual deal was cheap you would be put under a lot of pressure to buy the pictures so was slightly apprehensive about that the first time I went but it was fine, there was no pressure at all and as some other people have mentioned the pictures really don’t need a lot of hard sell, they are great and really sell themselves. I loved the makeup they did for me on the day and I was very happy to find that the makeup lady was almost giving me a makeup lesson, I took a lot away from that experience and I am a lot more confident with makeup now and happy too experiment a bit more as well. I brought quite a few of the makeup products, I would like to have brought more but I wanted to spend the majority of my money on the picture that I am so very proud of. I think New ID are great and if you go you will love it. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and I think if you check out the deals on the website you will be amazed , as I was, at how affordable this is.

Sophia was my stylist. She was friendly, knowledgeable, had great ideas and i can honestly say the hi-lites she did for me are the best ive had. The cut was also good and im really fussy!! Thanks sophia.

The reason I went for a makeover is not very exciting, I just felt like a bit of pampering and this seemed like a relatively inexpensive way of doing it. The deal I got off the New ID website actually cost less than I normally pay to get my hair cut so I figured as the hair cut was included and it was a Burlingtons stylist why not. I have to admit that I actually had no plan of even buying the pictures, I was happy to just take the free one and not even bother with the rest. This is a bit naughty I know as I am sure they only make money on the photos as there is no way they are going to make any money on what they are charging for the deal but I had no intention of going back again so I thought I would just got for it. As it turned out the makeover was so great and the pictures were so utterly amazing I ended up paying almost five hundred pounds on four shots and I have since had them framed and can hardly take my eyes of them. I did not do this due to any hard sell or anything of that nature, no, not at all it was simply because the pictures were so good there was no way I was going to leave without them and there is no way that I was never going to go and have this experience again. All of my friends loved the pictures and five of them have been and had a makeover themselves so it just goes to show how good New ID are and how they don’t need hard sell to make sales.

I felt what I paid for was what i got ,a £25 cut and blowdry, would i have paid anymore for this proberly not , but would go back again at same price ! staff very friendly , felt the salon could have been a bit updated ,also felt there was a to much going on ,makeovers ,photo shots for a small place. But overall as i said before would go back and would tell a friend to use it ,another good thing it is opened sundays which is great if you work during the wk .
