I purchased a massage deal on Groupon, the price I paid was decent/OK for what I received. The venue itself is lovely and facilities offered look great). However the room I had the massage in was a bit cold. There was no relaxing music playing (a first, as I've always had music playing during a massage) - there didn't even appear to be speakers or a stereo in the room, I'm not sure if a window was left open as the hussle and bussle outside could be heard quite clearly - so not very relaxing. The room couldn't have been more brightly lit which stopped me from relaxing entirely. The blinds were left open and the lights that were lit when I entered the room were not turned off for the massage. My therapist was OK, the massage felt pretty rushed and she didn't say a word to me during the treatment, if she'd have slowed down, the massage itself would have been great. I was in and out of the room in less than an hour, therefore my treatment was shortened even though I was early. They did offer me a 2 for 1 on massages in the future, but I don't think I'll be returning for this.
As gyms go, Body Works West is a sanctuary. Upon entry, there are aromatherapy candles burning and a bright and light atmosphere. There is a host of different offerings from pilates (extra cost) to boxing circuits to yoga, plus one free personal training session a month. The facilities are state-of-the-art and the staff are friendly and helpful. There is also a pool and a sauna and lovely dressing rooms with nice products and amenities. I have never been so positive about going to a gym!
My favourite place in Notting Hill. Ambience is great, staff is superb and the gym membership comes with 3 personal training sessions plus 1 per month extra for free. Pricier than Active, but worth the difference. Powerplate and pilates classes are very well done, but equipment can only be used during a class.

Sounds like a great place. Do they specialise in powerplate or is there a bit of everything?

They are a gym, but have a swimming pool, jacuzzi, yoga, classes so a bit of everything. Dont know the spa next door, but it belongs to Body Works West as well.
