Have already commented seperately on the spa, we went for a pamper day but also went to the gym and a spin class. The gym is pretty small and lacks some of the basics that I expect from the budget gym i am a member of. Changing rooms desperately in need of refurb.
Spinning class - worst spinning class I have ever been to - no structure, basically just going for full pelt for the whole class, no variation of what we were doing except sit down/stand up, no visualisation of what we were doing (e.g. hill climb, sprint, etc), no indications to help pace yourself. My friend has never done spin and I had to help her set up the bike, and there was no explanation to her as to what to expect (mind you not that it was needed - he could've said just go fast at the highest resistance you can manage for 45 minutes, job done).

I have just read about Bannatyne's Fitness Group in the Guardian newspaper (Money Page, November 26th, 2011). I cannot believe how vindictive and spiteful they were to a cancer patient over a paltry £134 membership. I would never want to use this firm for anything.
A friend and I went for a spa day here which included a 30 minute massage. The gym and pool were fine but the Therapists that treated us both were not welcoming at all and the treatments were cut short even though we arrived early. The therapy rooms are very run down, I would not recommend this place if your looking for pampering.
