Aqua Sheko Fish Spa
part of Aqua Sheko
Sorry. This venue is now closed
Aqua Sheko Fish Spa in Soho is the best place for a fish pedicure in London. The atmosphere and staff are great. There is a wide selection of free tee.

I had initially booked this fish and hand pedicure for the branch in Soho, but as they were closed for maintenance at the time, rather than wait for them to reopen I booked my appointment at Kensington as my voucher was soon to expire.
Although I wasn't sure what this venue was like, I was very nicely surprised...
Aquasheko Fish Spa, despite being much smaller in comparison to it's flashier Soho sister, is actually the original fish spa to have opened of the two. Set across one floor, it's a cosy little venue on a road that runs parallel with High Street Kensington and is very un-salon like with dark decor but plenty of natural light.
Google maps for some reason pinpoint the spa at the wrong end of the High Street - so ignore this and just look up 14 Holland Street if you want the right location! I was 20 minutes late for my appointment because of the misdirection, but the manager Karen was really understanding as I arrived flustered and apologetic. She explained quite a few customers had been mislead by the google map directions!
As the spa did not offer the fish manicure (Soho offers a larger variety of treatments), my friend and I were both offered a 10 minute foot massage instead, which followed the fish pedicure. We were lucky as we had apparently booked on a quiet day.
Having missed the lunch rush hour we had the salon to ourselves, and the full attention of both the manager Karen and her colleague and spa therapist Sachiko. They were both excellent- all staff, regardless of hierarchy are trained up to treat customers. So after Karen washed and inspected our feet (they need to ensure you have no open cuts or infections that may contaminate the water), Sachiko led us to our tanks and helped me lower my feet into the water as I squealed at the crowding Gurra Rufa fish lapping around my heels. The gentle sucking on my feet produced by the feeding fish is a unique tickling sensation, unlike anything I'd experienced.
During our 30 minutes fish pedicure, we were provided with a cup of refreshing jasmine tea and some chocolate mikado sticks which were a nice touch and added to the relaxed environment. Our feet were then dried and we were seated in some very swanky massage chairs and handed the controls while both staff set to work, giving our feet a thorough professional massage with Neal's Yard Oils.
All in all, the experience left my tired feet soft, refreshed and tingling in a good way. Further pedi sessions would have been required to get rid of all the rough dry patches from my soles as this is by no means a traditional pedicure, so don't expect miracles, but it has left my feet noticeably smoother. The staff who looked after us were an added bonus, attentive, chatty and happy to answer my questions about their training and share foot care advice.
Highly recommended for an occasional treat, or a gift for a friend who is open to new experiences.

I visited Aqua Sheko at the height of the fish pedicure craze last summer, and still don't really get what the fuss is about. It is essentially a novelty treatment, not a proper pedicure. Perhaps if you visited regularly then it would be as effective, but as a one-off it does not remove enough hard skin. The facilities are more well-maintained than other fish spas I've seen, but still are not very appealing - especially when you have to wash your feet in a funny little sink with cold water before the treatment. The fish nibbling is an odd sensation, but one you get used to. At the usual price of £35 I was not a fan of this treatment.

This was great value with the Wahanda voucher at £12.
The staff squeezed me in when I called and asked for an appointment the next day, which I was grateful for. It was nice facilities, very clean and very new looking. The staff were very friendly and made me feel quite at ease.
The only thing that could have topped it off, would be an application of polish!
Green tea and snacks helped round off the experience.

Went as a group with my colleagues and boss. Had a good time. We arrived late but staff friendly nonetheless, especially the Brazilian girl with a Portuguese accent.
The fish were wonderful, couldn't face the itchiness for the first 10 seconds but got used to it gradually. We didn't play with the complimentary iPad coz of chats. Absolutely loved the complimentary green tea and Japanese snacks...had 2 refills!
I didn't have the massage afterwards, but the female colleagues appeared to be enjoying... definitely will return with my girlfriend as a surprise...as for my mum not sure if she will take the surprise nicely=)

I work in Canary Wharf and rarely had any time off. A friend told me about this funky spa place called Aqua Sheko so I called up and booked an appointment with my boyfriend last Saturday to try it out.
The fact is - the treatment ended up far exceed my expectation with the fish pedicure surprisingly pleasant - which I didn't expect in the beginning. They served us free tea and the ambience was so good in that place. In the end I was totally destressed and relaxed. The only minor point was that the lady sitting next to me was speaking too loud with her friend. It went back to heaven after they left.
I would go every other week to relax and recommand to all my friends!

I bought this a gift for my sister and it was a fantastic deal (thanks Wahanda!). The facilities were lovely and clean, the fish all looked healthy and happy but was a little disappointed to see paperwork/diary on the side and with no inclination that this was an unusual thing to see. Just made it seem a little disorganised.
The actual treatment was wonderful, odd but wonderful!

I bought this for a present for my sister for Christmas, as she had wanted this for some time - I've had it done before and thought it was great so new she would love it.
If you have ticklish feet please realise that there may be a lot of squealing involved, but after a few minutes you will get used to it!
I think the only down side is a week after I booked Wahanda was flooded with lots of cheaper offers for exactly the same thing!!

It has been very interesting and unsusal experience. One time is enough for me though. I don't think that I will do it again. I had a great time and laugh with a friend.
