The fish we use are original Garra Rufa also known as doctor fish, nibble fish or little dermatologist...Although these little Minnow size fish have no teeth, they certainly have a big impact! When you immerse your feet into the warm water these curious little dermatologist will get to work by gently nibbling off any dead hard skin, leaving you pampered, healthy and glowing. All over the world nibble-fish centres are springing up and people are taking advantage of a totally organic pedicure. The fish will only work on unhealthy or dead skin, the healthy skin is left untouched.
During a treatment the fish suck and nibble away the dry skin from your feet leaving you with healthy, rejuvenated skin. Your feet will feel amazing, refreshed and healthy. These clever fish can also stimulate acupuncture points, helping to regulate the nervous system, relax the body and release fatigue. Your blood circulation and flow is also greatly increased during the treatment.
The treatment can be a little tickly to start with, which is great, because we can all do with a laugh once in a while! You will feel a light tingling sensation and enjoy a relaxing foot massage. The fish have no teeth so the treatment works by them gently licking and sucking away at the dry skin and doesn't hurt.
You will pre-rinse your feet and have your own dedicated fish and water pod, except if you select a partner or sharing therapy spa. Water is sterilized and fish are constantly changed, ensuring the utmost hygiene.

Staff were a little abrupt, not clearly explained what the process entailed, quite busy with lots of children running around, treatment was quite short 15 mins for £10.00 which is a little excessive to say the least!! I would go again, but for the price, I think that, half an hour for £10.00 would be a more reasonable price. Also, some people turned up with open wounds on their feet and were just told to cover them with a plaster!!!! As a nurse, I found this quite disconcerting and was concerned for the risk of cross contamination, also, our feet were not examined prior to the treatment, what if someone has a fungal infection eg athletes foot or a verrucae, both of which are highly contagious. Having said that, the actual experience was quite good although my daughter and I did not notice a huge difference in the amount of dead skin which was removed, have taken off more with a ped egg!!!!! Suggestions would be; lower the price, improve customer relations and provide clear concise information including actually examining someones feet before they use the spa.
